Ever gotten a massage or scrub at Spa World?
Return to DiscussionsHey all. Wanted to get your perspectives on the massage or scrub at Spa World. I've gotten the scrubs before -- the special, usually, in that alcove off the bade pool -- and have enjoyed it, but once the scrub guy was a bit too energetic and I had marks on my back for a week. For the most part, though, feels great and I have enjoyed it. I'd read enough in advance about what to expect so I wasn't too surprised.
But I have not tried the massage and don't even know where to schedule it (the scrubs you can book inside the locker room) or where the massage occurs and if you can request a male or female therapist, etc. Tried looking at TripAdvisor or Yelp but not much info there and what I've found is discouraging about the quality. Anyone have any experience booking one and how did it go? Thanks for your advice.
I have not gotten the full body massage that is done upstairs in a private room. I have gotten the sports massage that is done in the same area as the body scrub in the mens locker room bathhouse. I do like them and the body scrub. You may want to ask the people at the front desk about setting up an appointment of the full body massage.

Thanks, Billy. I elected not to do either when I was there today. Not enough endorsement around for the massage, and the guy doing the scrubs was the one who was a little too rough the last time I had one with him. Perhaps another time.
I have yet to get a scrub or massage. I saw a guy after he got the scrub... he was all red from head to toe. He said it was amazing, but it looked rather painful.
I wonder if you could request a certain employee?
Usually they have two guys doing the scrubs on tables side by side (surreal in and of itself when you're on one of the tables) but the whole staffing looked pretty light today -- maybe summer is less busy. Good thought though.
I did the body scrub there a couple times. It is amazing! I was a little nervous about flipping over to my back the first time. Was a little worried about growing a bit which did start to happen. I apologized and was told not to worry its normal and to relax and enjoy the session which I did. Very professional and cant wait to go back.
I had the regular massage once. When you go to the pultice room area there are stairs leading up to the massage area and I made my reservation there. You have to pay attention because they will call your locker number when it's time to go up. I've done body massage and foot massage up there and both were fine.
As for the body scrub - it is one of my most favorite things to do. I love the feeling of having my entire body scrubbed. I try to do that whenever I visit.
