Anyone else spent time in this beautiful place in Colorado?   Spent a few days there, could have easily spent many more, such a nice place to visit.

Being a longtime Colorado resident we have been going to Valley View for over 25 years.  I am glad you have enjoyed it.  The Orient Trust was formulated to retain the beauty of the hot springs and to protect the bats in the mine.  The trust will ensure the property is not sold to developers or sold tto anyone which would inhibit the access to the mine and the hot springs.
It is a lovely place and the upper pools can be quite slippery during the winter.  i am glad you enjoyed it. We have many friends who have moved fom the Boulder to the Crestone area to be close to the hot springs.

The wife and I visited back in 2005, we loved it, except for all the creepy guys hanging around the main pool because the place is clothing optional.  I went all the way to the top pool and worked my way down, definately worth the hike.  Maybe someday we can go back again.

Thanks
Jerry

I definitely want to go back there again, I could so see myself staying there a week.  Met some great people there, it can be such a community environment, in people sharing food and drink too, and having great conversations around the pool and hot springs.

While some may not like the new campfire rules, it does kinda bring people together in the evening around the pavillion fire area.
Hopefully May or August, I can come for a week.

I like Valley View, but prefer the Dakota Hot Springs in Penrose - mostly becuase:
 - the water is hotter
 - it is closer to my house
 - the people seem to be more friendly

Valley view is a great place to go, especially mid-week or off season to quitely meditate by yourself in a secluded hot springs where you can sit naked and enjoy nature

Valley View Hot Springs (Orient Land Trust or www.olt.org) is a very unigue place.  August is a good time as well as all summer months to enjoy Valley View.  September starts to see the beginnings of Autumn and cooler nights.  October is nice with the changing of the leaves and cooler, shorter days and cooler, longer nights.  It is open year round except Dec. 1-28.  Snow is always a possibility in winter months so check weather conditions and forecasts ahead of time.

All the property at OLT is clothing optional.  Very nudist friendly.  The ponds and pools are warm and some fluctuate with spring runoff.  The only hot spot is the hot pool or what use to be the "kiddie pool."  Some may not find the waters hot enough to their liking but the entire package is worth it in the end. There is a regular pool, heated as well as a sauna with a quick dip pool inside sauna.  Always some place to be warm or cool depending on your mood.

It is a place to discover and has it`s own "magic" that makes it unique.  There is a bat colony that lives in an abandoned mine about an hours walk up the mountain.  Bat tours are given most evenings in the summer as long as the bats are available as they show up in late spring/early summer and return to their winter home in the fall.  The outflights in the evenings are breathtaking and spectacular.  The bats may also be present at a couple of ponds after their outflight.  They can consume nearly 1,000 pounds of insects every night in the summer.  You may also encounter fireflies in the evenings and an occasional deer wondering freely all over the residence and other wildlife as well.

Co-ed bathrooms are the norm.  Two each, one near the sauna and one near the Oak House.  Each containing toilets, sinks and showers.  This is a family place, so all ages, races, sexes and orientation is allowed.  There are also cabins and rooms available for rent along with tent camping areas and vehicle camping areas.

No, it doesn`t have the hottest waters.  Doesn`t have to but there is plenty to enjoy.  It is on the rustic side but very comfortable to just be there.  Check it out.  Spend a day or more.  Day visits as well as overnight visits up to 9 nights a month.

     Check out their website: www.olt.org

P.S.  Oh, and on a personal note.  I discovered this place July 2007.  It has been in existence for many many years and many people have enjoyed.  Had I known about it before I had, I would have been going much sooner.  I had just become a social nudist and this was my second nudist venue.  In the two years that I discovered this place, I have frequented it nearly 30 times either by making special trips to be there or just traveling through, usually going out of my way to do so, onto other destinations.  However, this is not the only place I`ve been socially nude.  I`ve also gone to Orvis Hot Springs in Ridgway, Colorado, Black`s Beach in San Diego, California, Haulover Beach in Miami, Florida and Playalinda Beach at Canaveral Sea Shore near Orlando, Florida.  Enjoy your nude times whether indoors or out.  Be well, my nude friends.

Wife and I visited there in late May or early June.  The minute we got to VVHS we knew we`d found a special place.  We stayed in an Oak House room.  The atmosphere from management to members and visitors is relaxed and friendly.  No pretense about not being able to enjoy all there is to be enjoyed about nudism.  There are people of all ages and attitudes.  Lots of younger Boulder-types when we were there, great for the ambience.  Great possibilities for hiking, and for finding that secluded spot.  Photography is okay as long as you`re not photographing anyone without their permission.  As it should be - what a beautiful place.

Great hot springs.   Would recommend it to anyone who enjoys being mellow in hot springs setting.
