RE: When to use a towel to sit on?9 months agoThe towel etiquette at resorts and other public venues is of course aimed at hygiene because the furnishings are used by everyone. So I`d say in those settings children, even youngsters should be taught to sit on towels. But at home with your own stuff and their play equipment, I wouldn`t think it was necessary. |

RE: When to use a towel to sit on?9 months agoWell, my personal belief is you try to teach your kids good habits when they are young. If they are outside, I wouldn`t be too concerned, unless sitting in a public venue. Inside, they should always use a towel. Get them used to it. That`s what I`ve done with my kids. Let`s face it, kids are probably less careful about hygeine than most adults, well some adults. My son thought it was kind of silly, until I showed him a skid mark (I know tmi) that he left behind on a white towel. Now he is not only more careful to carry the towel, but has gotten into the habit of using wipes to clean after tp. That would be my next step to start using with them, especially if you have a girl. My youngest is extremely sensitive, and because of other issues I won`t discuss in a public forum, I`ve started teaching her to use them years ago. Now it`s common practice with my kids. |

RE: When to use a towel to sit on?8 months agoNot to sound gross or anything, but I think it`s even more important for children to use a towel than adults. They are learning how to wipe and don`t always get everything. Well, that`s my line of thinking at least. lol |

Children practice in public what they learn at home. Would you expect them to know to use a fork/knife/spoon at a restaurant if they were not taught to do this at home? Or to know to say please and thank you if they were never required to do this at home? If they are not learning to sit on a towel at home, how can you expect them to remember to do so at a family nudist resort? Children learn good behaviours (and bad) from practice and example. From the hygiene stand point, aside from "skidmarks", think about all the little furry creatures running around your property at night, the dirt splashing up on the slide/deck/swing every time it rains. The mold and mildew that breeds on wood/plastic/rubber. Do you really want their genitals in contact with this? Sitting on the deck eating watermelon - hope it`s not a wooden deck or you may end up removing plenty of splinters! Jen |

RE: When to use a towel to sit on?3 months agoTowels come in handy to sit on in sauna`s, (sometimes you might sit on a hot screw head) ouch. They also come in handy for wooden picnic tables and chairs, (sliver`s- (sp) ouch. |

Really? I just did a random search of the resorts on the locations page. Every picture of anyone sitting shows them sitting on a towel (except for one). If you don`t see a towel, maybe it`s because their bum is hiding it? lol |

RE: When to use a towel to sit on?3 months agoA towel is used for hygenic reasons ,I have never been to a naturist resort or club where you can sit on a seat of any kind without a towel underneath you. Surely it is just commen sense and hygenic to use one. It cant be much trouble to carry one we always do. |

RE: When to use a towel to sit on?3 months agoIt really is NOT too much trouble to carry one around with you at a resort, and frankly I do at home, too. For the same hygeinic reasons I just don`t want to take a chance. Paid too much for my furniture, lol! |

At our home resort, you never see anyone that doesn`t have a towel with them. |

RE: When to use a towel to sit on?3 months agoI too, have seen many photos of nudist situations sans towel. It does make one wonder, but one also doesn`t have to think about it very long to see the logic of always using a towel, wash rag, something. |

RE: When to use a towel to sit on?2 months agoThat is irrelevant about nudist photos without towel. The fact remains that it is common courtesy to take no chance of exposing others to your body fluids. |
