What`s happening to me?

Since I have decided to follow a more nudist lifestyle around the house (I am a home nudist), I have found myself being more body-conscious. I watch what I eat more closely, I have started to exercise daily (in the nude, of course), and It`s not like I was a complete slob before, but I am more meticulous about personal hygiene (I sometimes shower more than once a day). These things can`t be bad, so I have to say that it`s been my experience that nudism is healthy for me! Has this happened to anyone else?

Sure...i`m a lot more concientous about working out and eating right, since you can`t hide anything when you`re nude, lol!

Speaking as a "full-bodied" old guy, since I began the 24/7 nude way of life I have become conscious of the "overhang" and have vowed to myself that it shall go away. Clothes can hide many physical results of a sedentary lifestyle, but nakedness is unforgiving. Now my mirrors are my worst critics. I`ve already dropped almost 40 lbs, but that midriff bulge, being the easiest to accumulate, is the hardest to shed.

I have an incentive. Hopefully, come May I`ll be partaking of my first-ever adventure into social nudism at a nearby resort. It would do wonders for my confidence to deflate the spare tire. :-)

I`ve been a nudist for my entire adult life, and have spent time in nudist clubs around the country. Typically, they have outdoor showers, sometimes in several locations, and there is nothing more pleasant than showering in the open air and sunshine. It seems typical to shower several times a day, if you work up a sweat playing volleyball or after coming back from a hike, you just rinse off. I once had a friend say that she always feels "so clean when at a nudist club".
As for watching what I eat, exercise, etc, I guess I`m always thinking of being seen nude, so this has become second nature to me and, I`m sure, other nudists. I do find that in the dead of winter, when I know I`ll be covered under a heavy coat, I tend to overeat, but usually shed those extra pounds once Spring is in the air.
And so these are just a few of the healthful benefits of nudist living.

Thanks for the replies. I had hurt my back at work recently, and the chiropractor gave me some exercises to do at home. Well, I`ve never been one that likes exercising that much, but I have found that it is much more enjoyable doing them while nude. I have even bought an exercise machine, like a Total Gym that Chuck Norris advertises...I hope I can make using it a regular habit.

The exercise bike has been resurrected, and the work begins. Good luck to all!

BTW, Neptune, if my old body were half as fit as yours, I`d be content.

After finally deciding to put my pics across for everyone to see I realized the trips to the gym have obviously been replaced with trips to the fridge. I will be hitting the gym again so as to lower my level of embarrassment. What a shame I didnt start 6 months ago.

I`ve a full length mirror at the end of the main hall.
Yes, you do tend to notice. A remnant of the self-concious textile world.
I`m not sure it`s a bad thing, not being able to NOT notice what should be.
Provides incentive to be the best you that you can be.
Even if no one else cares ( they don`t ) or even notices ( they`ll never say ) *I* care and *I* notice.
For me, that`s the only one that really counts.

I have off-and-on back trouble, and need to watch my weight, posture and muscle tone to stay functional.  I find that going without a shirt - something that`s easy to do almost everywhere here - makes a BIG difference.  I`m more conscious of posture. My "form" when walking improves dramatically, which helps with muscle tone in the torso. And standing up straighter gets me smiles on the street.

It`s not vanity, there`s just an awareness that nudity (or close to it) helps to maintain.  I think we hide in clothes - ESPECIALLY men, who almost never wear clothes that are designed to communicate anything but conformity. (Women are challenged by their clothing in very different ways.)  And that`s bad for our bodies, because it lets us forget them and live too much in our heads. It takes nothing away from body acceptance to note that nudism is good for the health.

Getting older is a fact of life, that combined with a sugar problem has kinda forced me to eat the right foods and exercise...a toned body feels good.

I know whereof you speak, brother. I`m a Type-B diabetic. It`s diet-controlled, but I kinda miss all that good stuff that I enjoyed when I was blisfully ignorant.  C`est la vie.

I`m finding this thread inspiring.  I used to think I was in pretty good shape ... suddenly I`m twenty pounds heavier, my waist line is two inches bigger, and my jeans don`t fit me anymore ...
You guys are helping talk me into getting back into some form of fitness -- thanks!
