This coffee table book shows male bonding from a different side (I quote "Nude horseplay among men during World War II"). It offers some insights via text and b/w photos and I must say it has a lot of charm ... although those times were really really hard.
Looks like a fascinating book, showing that even under the worst of circumstances enjoyment of social nudity can be a fun escape, a valid way for guys to bond with one another. Thanks for the recommendation, Mike.
If you go to the TASCHEN book site for MY BUDDY you will find a great 5 minute video showing some pictures in the book as well as short interview by a 90 year old marine who fought in World War II.
Thanks for the suggestion. Several links to photos from the book, especially nice that they're mostly B&W, would be quite appropriate for this group postings.
