This is Deb..the wife who used to live in Dutch. It was a different way of life out there. Where in the world could you party with the Russians on Independence Day? On July 4th, about 1985ish the city dock was opened to a community Independence Day Party when many fishing vessels were scheduled to be (including many Russian vessels) in Dutch that day. We, the locals, brought potluck and had a county western band play and we danced with the Russians on Independence Day! It was so awesome! Where in the United States would one be able to experience this? It was the first time I realized that the people of a another country are just like us...its the politcians screw it all up!
