Couples San Souci in October

Return to Discussions

Weve had a trip to Couples San Souci booked since early this year since it really looked at the time that COVID would be under control and we can get all of our money back if we were to cancel as late as five days before the trip. Then the Delta surge had us thinking we were going to end up canceling. Well, case rates are dropping fast and actually only 50% of the rate in our own county here in California. Of course, Im sure testing and reporting are not nearly as reliable in Jamaica, but 50% gives quite a bit of leeway. Plus Jamaica tourism and the resorts are doing everything the can to protect tourists and thus their tourism revenue.

So, later this month were headed to Couples San Souci and meeting up with some couples that we met at Grand Lido Negril in 98, 99, and 2000 and have not seen since. Couples San Souci doesnt have a nude side of the resort like Grand Lido did and is not fully nude like N Resort, that we went to in later years, but it does have a nice nude beach, pool, and bar & grill. Unfortunately, we will have to dress for dinner and walking to and from the beach but we are really looking forward to once again kicking back on a Jamaican beach with a drink and the added fun of catching up with friends we havent seen in 20 years. I cant wait.

Enjoy your stay, FullSun! I hope you'll have stories to tell about Jamaica when we meet again.

RE:Couples San Souci in October

I thought Id posted a trip report but if I did, I didnt do it hereoops! Anyway, here a copy of something I posted about it the forums in response to somebody asking about Couples San Souci. long story short, it was great!

We were there the last week of October. It was our 9th trip to Jamaica in 25 years with all but one either having at least a small nude beach area all the way to nude anywhere on the property. Unfortunately all the places we visited in the past have changed hands, been demolished and rebuilt as something else etc. We absolutely loved it and even though its nit full nude like N Resort was, its become our new favorite. The nude beach area is large with a very nice pool, swim up bar, pretty good grill for lunches, lots of sand even with activities taking place like tye-dying shirt, trivia, etc. The water off the beach is a bit chilly and strange because a river feeds in right next to the beach and the water is still mixing. There is also a lot of sea grass. However, did take our floats from the lounges clear out to the end of the peninsula next to the beach and found some pretty good snorkeling we could do nude.

We went with other couples we had met on three other trips to Jamaica at the nude beach at Grand Lido Negril in 98, 99, and 2000 but hadnt seen for 21 years. It was so much fun catching up.

Our days were generally, get up, go to the breakfast that is a buffet but quite good, then head to the nude beach area and hang out all day in the pool, get sun, talk with our friends, get drinks, lunch and maybe play some volleyball in the pool. The pool is not well designed for volleyball but we still had fun. Then as the day got late we would head back and get ready for dinner wherever our group had planned and we had all gotten reservations for. In the evenings there entertainment that we hung out at a few nights.

Recommendations: 1) try all the restaurants, they are all good. 2) take the time to wander all over the property, its very pretty and diverse, especially up near the mineral pool. 3) if you like to snorkel, sign up to go out on the boat one day late morning. Its something good to do. The snorkeling isnt bad, but it is Jamaica snorkeling. Weve been spoiled having snorkeled in Tahiti, Australia, Fiji, Belize etc. 4) ask for a ground floor room in building A or B. The resort describes these rooms as One Bedroom Beachfront Suites overlooking the resorts beautifully manicured lawn and beach are ideally located near Bella Vista Restaurant and adjacent to the main pool and swim-up bar.

Also, we have medical reasons to be concerned about COVID thus we were on the fence about going for quite some time. But we actually felt safer there than we do here in our own community with people refusing to wear masks, not getting vaccinated etc. The resort is handling it extremely well, working to protect their guests and business.

Enjoy!!! I want to go back!!,
