A great rally Aug 19-21 in Cripple Creek Colorado. It is a veterans memorial rally with a POW/MIA ride on Sat morning. This is the biggest rally and ride in CO and the area is very beautiful. Last year the traveling Vietnam memorial (known as 'The Wall') and other war memorials were there, I'm hoping it comes back this year. There was also antique aircraft flyovers, giant sand sculptures, great bikes to look at and TONS of people.
The town of Cripple Creek is an old mining town just West of Colorado Springs CO. It was turned from a dying ghost town into a thriving town by legalizing gambling and building small casinos. Many of the old buildings still stand and it still has that small mountain town feeling. It is one if the most scenic rides in the Ricky mountains and is awe inspiring.
I have my room reserved and will be there with my wife all weekend. I hope some of you can make it and keep an eye out for me. Unfortunately, I will be dressed.
