SOUGIA BEACH CHANIA CRETE

FOR THOSE WHO LIKE SOUGIA BEACH.

Situated 67 kilometers far from Chania at the South, Sougia is a nice long pebbly beach with rich shade from tamarisk trees, open to the southern winds. Less organised, it offers some accommodation facilities, food and drink and facilities for swimming and sunbathing (sun beds, umbrellas). The beach is popular for camping because of the shade of the trees around. The eastern side is kept for nudists. The beach is popular for snorkelling, too.
Access from Chania is possible by rented or private car and motorbike.
Access from Sfakia, Palaeochora, Aghia Roumeli and Loutro is possible by boat.

RE: About Sougia.

I have not been to Sougia for several years but I've enjoyed it when I've gone there. As you say its not organised, but I like that, some beaches have too much in the way of sunbeds etc. I prefer the beach to be just that, a beach. I'm a nudist who likes being naked in natural places, of course being naked in man made places is OK too, but natural is better.
I have some good memories of many happy and naked hours spent at Sougia beach. Crete has some great nudist beaches, especially along this part of the south coast.
