Return to DiscussionsWent west of Marco Island the other day and for 15/18 miles off shore lots and lots of dead fish of all kinds, snapper, grunts, bait, grouper, etc. The stink of the rotting fish is in the air. They have not washed up on the beaches in the Marco Island area so everyone keeps saying there is no Red Tide there. Trying to look squeaky clean image for travelers and people on their holiday from overseas. Looks OK Smells OK No Dead Fish but go in the water and a few hours later you have a nasty rash all over. Red tide extends south to Everglades City at this time. Follow the dead fish!
