The Butt Naked / Super Nudist Club

A group for those that have achieved at least the level of "Butt Naked" on the forums. This is a way of gathering those members together for others to easily find for questions, etc..

I'm going to do something that you all might see as unusual for me. I'm going to try to be the voice of reason. I am going to suggest to all of the Butt Nakeds, Super Nudists and those of us that post waaaaaaaay too much that we start ignoring the obvious flamers on the main forum. Without naming names beyond my own, I know that some of us like to respond to everything on the forum. Maybe the flame wars could be put out if we would take a moment to read posts before responding to and feeding the fires for the troublemakers? If we would start treating the flamers the same as we do the spammers then maybe, just maybe, they wouldn't be able to take over the forum as they have over the course of this past week. That's just my opinion and I thought this would be the best place to share it.

By the way, I've buried the flamers posts a few times over the past two days only to see one or more of you revive his posts just as soon as you could. It isn't helping to do that. You're just relieving his boredom.

Linda, I totally agree with what you say. It was very well and good to bump up the old threads with the rules. A certain person's temper in effect took over the forum. Several us tried to correct him. Tempers sneaked in. The flame war got out of hand.
I agree with the advice to ignore that certain person, if he posts any more of his flaming posts.
Oops maybe I am contributing to the flaming. For instance I brought up religion, by quoting scripture that the letter kills.

Hi Linda,
I disagree only with the part where you say that you are not the voice of reason. Just having fun with your posts doesn't mean that we dont need your excellent and well thought out comments. I feel that some of the comments made by the butt nakeds and super nudists made of late were uncalled for and shameful.
I have to admit that it took some restraint not to jump in at times. Threads, such as mentioned, are best left to die a quick death by being ignored. Its seems as though that there is always someone so eager to dazzle us with their brilliance that a bad thread is kept alive. These same dazzlers often destroy good threads by going so far off topic that the original point is lost. Too bad the same technique cannot be applied to the bad threads.
Id like to encourage you to copy your post here in group and paste it into a post for the General Forum. It merits reading by more than our small group.

Well, I'm in agreement that we ignore, not comment on the crap posts. I've been very uncomfortable with the 3 trolls recently.

Hi Art, Thank you for the compliment. I haven't posted this on the main forum as yet though I may post a variation of it in the near future. I did send out a copy via bulletin. That should reach nearly 600 people. I posted it here because I felt like most of the people feeding the flames were members of this group. Right now, it appears the flames are dying. Let's keep it that way and ignore the bored flamer and his friends. Okay?

RE: Up in flames

I'm afraid I may have inadvertantly "fanned the flames" last night. Before I went to bed I bounced THISthread off the home page. I even posted on one thread that I was shamelessly bouncing spam off the home page. I'm afraid the Boy thought I was bouncing him off the home page as I find this morning he has started a whole new tirade.

I'd like to add to Lin's suggestion of just ignoring him, and say don't even bother bouncing him, if you are. Other than monitoring what he is writing, there is nothing more we can really do here. He is digging his own grave, let him continue to do so.

Oops sorry,
Last night I bounced him all the way from the top to off the page.

Don't worry about it, Jen. You meant well. As you say, he is digging has own grave.
I promise I won't respond to him any more. I also won't bounce him off the home page.

RE: Up in flames

I agree with all of you. I am guilty of fanning the flames myself. Hard not to speak up when someone is attacking the good members of this site but it is probably best to "turn the other cheek" so to speak. So many are obviously here just to rile everyone up. I will not respond to any more of the obvious troublesome posts.

Be careful for what you wish. He's come back before. He can probably do it again, if he so desires.
