Walton On The Naze Directions

Check the tide times - if you go to the beach you may not be able to reach the very end since there are 2 channels which feed the marshes behind the beach. When the tide is "in" the channels may be difficult to cross. Best to go to the beach about a couple of hours after high tide. Drive into Walton On The Naze and head for the last car park, by the Tower, at the northern end of the town. There is a visitor centre (quite interesting), toilets and a couple of cafes where you can stock up on food / refreshments if you have not brought any with you. The car park is pay and display and I normally purchase an "All Day" ticket which costs 5 at the time of penning this. From there walk north, past the tower and head through the woods until you reach the sea wall. Walk along the sea wall until you reach the information board then take the path to the right which leads to the beach. You should normally be able to walk along the beach completely nude although I usually have something handy in case I meet others. Use your discretion - I have often kept walking nude when passing others returning from the end of the beach. Best to wear footwear since there is sometimes the odd piece of glass in the sand.
