About

With the arrival of Summer, Avalon is the ideal place for longer vacations. When the weather is sweltering in the cities and flat lands, pleasant mountain breezes keep the weather near perfect at Avalon. The solar enclosure of the Indoor Pool opens to provide a second outdoor pool. In summer our excellent massage therapists move outside with the birds and the breezes to provide massage and pampering in open air, screened areas. The poolside snack bar is open every day to provide lunch, snacks, and your favorite beverages. Tennis, volleyball, and petanque courts, horseshoe pits, fishing pond, exercise trail and the campground provide many opportunities for outdoor activities. Air conditioned rooms make your accommodations comfortable even on those few days during the summer when the breezes die and the sun gets hot. Plan early for your summer vacation at Avalon. You may rent a condo or a campsite for a week's vacation where you have the option of preparing some of your own meals or stay in the lodge and be pampered.

My favorite place in West Virginia

Rated as:
5 star(s)
Review

An upper scale resort well worth the visit. it`s nestled in the foothills of West Virginia, and the drive is beautiful, especially in the early spring, or late fall. The area is known for it`s red bud trees, they are beautiful.

Pros

The people are friendly, and you run into some of the same people every time you go there. They have both an indoor, and outdoor pool, 2 jacuzzis, sauna, steam room, exercise room, nudecino, motel rooms, condos, lounge, restaurant, tennis, petanque, hikin

Cons

During the winter some things are only open on weekends, and the pool has shorter hours.
