The Ponderosa is a lovely, well-run resort with pretty, open grounds and lots of space. It is located in a rural area, for seclusion and privacy, but there are towns just a few miles up the main highway where you can go eat or buy necessities if you want to. We found the residents at the Ponderosa to be very friendly and nice. They`re obviously proud of their homesites and resort. The owners are always in evidence and available. The resort is very well maintained and the facilities are great! There was always something going on on the weekends... dances, get-togethers, etc... but the best part of the resort is the large outdoor pool with a large lounging area, where chairs, tables and umbrellas are ready and waiting for you to relax away your day. There is also a poolside bar, conversation pool and large outdoor hot tub. Food is available pretty much all day from the restaurant in the lodge. Inside the lodge there is a pool, hot tub, sauna, changing area and public restrooms, plus a large dining area/party room and bar. There are 9 rooms of varying sizes and prices available to rent. Unfortunately, none have a private bath and there is only one bathroom that all nine rooms have to share... one toilet, one small shower, one sink. That wasn`t good. Other than the problem with the bathroom, there were two other problems we encountered... the water pressure would bottom out a few times a day, unpredictably, and if you were in the shower when it happened you ended up trying to rinse off under a trickle of water. Also, on week nights, all the facilities were closed and locked up by 9. We found this a bit inconvenient, plus we had expected that we`d be able to use the facilities pretty much any time we wanted to, within reason. For these few reasons alone, I would probably check out other resorts before returning to the Ponderosa, which is a shame, because otherwise, we liked the place a lot.
Proslovely resort and facilities, great outdoor hot tub, lovely rooms, nice people
Cons9 rooms sharing one bathroom, low water pressure, facilities close too early
Ontario Canada`s finest

The conversation pool with swim up bar is the highlight. Big hot tub outside and a pool and hot tub inside. Huge outdoor swimming pool (but very cold). Staff is nice and most of the residents are as well. We did run into one resident who acted like she owned the place and was very rude and full of herself
Prosconversation pool
Consmain pool too cold
