Laid Back and Rustic, Plenty of Relaxation!

Review

I`ve been here about 8 times, 4 with friends/girlfriends. It is one of those resorts where if you can`t relax here, you shouldn`t relax nude anywhere! Being a family resort, I was skeptical at first; but EVERYONE is great to everyone! Close to Atlanta, NC, SC, easy to get to. The pool is refreshing, plenty of sunny days in the spring/summer, and cool enough at nights to keep you wanting to stay in the 8-person hot-tub. The value is great, while also providing all the amenities you need: either cabins, or tents/sleeping bags, all of it. If you want to get away for a while, give it a try on the weekend if you like mingling, weekdays if you need to just get away. Either way, you`ll have a great time.

Pros

Plenty of activities and people to meet during the weekends, BYOB. Restaurants, wine/liquor shops, 15 minutes away in Helen, Ga.

Cons

Boring on the weekdays.

What a wonderful place!

Review

We recently went on vacation and had the opportunity to stay at Serendipity Park in Cleveland, GA, about 90 minutes north of Atlanta. What a wonderful place! The owners, Paul, Stuart and Christy, could not have been more accommodating - we were arriving late (after dinner) on a Saturday. Stuart offered to put aside dinner plates for us from the clubs "pot luck" Saturday Dinner so that we wouldn`t have to waste any time eating on the road. We had a wonderful time eating dinner in the clubhouse (also known as "the dip") which gave us an opportunity to meet the other guests and residents before the social activities for the evening began (board games followed by a dance). Every one we met couldn`t have been any nicer or friendlier. Guests, residents, owners and staff welcomed us as family and made us feel at home right away. Jen had been really been looking forward to starting this summer with her first "all over" tan, but alas, she spent the better part of the day, before arriving, walking around downtown Atlanta in a tank top and with her fair skin got sun-burned. As the evening progressed and she started looking like a lobster wearing a white shirt, Christy got an ice cold bottle of aloe for her and let her use it for the duration of our stay. (lol, almost hit the ceiling when Christy put that icy aloe gel on my back and shoulders). Our accommodations were beautiful; we stayed in their "log cabin" trailer. Jen did a little happy dance when she first saw it. It was neat, clean, well-appointed, tastefully decorated - they even left us chocolate mints on our pillow. Serendipity boasts two "log cabin" trailers that sleep up to 4, 3 park view trailers that sleep up to 6 and 2 poolside cabins that sleep up to 2 (I think), as well as RV hookups and tent sites. The facilities and grounds were wonderful - everything you could ask for and more; Large club house with meeting/dining room and a dance hall/movie/game room. Every board and video game imaginable, videos to borrow, books to read...you name it, they had it. They had a beautiful outdoor swimming pool, indoor hot tub and sauna, weight/fitness room, and cafe. The grounds are well maintained and beautifully landscaped; gorgeous hiking trail that leads down to a creek with small waterfalls; playground and playing field for the children (and for the child within us all!) We made friends in short order and had friendly conversations with all. When you meet the people it’s no wonder that Serendipity has won AANR’s Koch Award for Outstanding Friendliness – FIVE TIMES! We are looking forward to, someday, going back for a longer stay. Originally we had plans to stay at a different resort but due to circumstances we ended up at the last minute finding Serendipity. And it was a perfect fit. Guess you could say it was…SERENDIPITOUS! Jen and Steve p.s. Almost forgot! Serendipity is a family resort that welcomes singles – their motto is – “Your behavior is your passport”

Pros

Absolutely great place to visit from families to singles.

Cons

It`s 1300 miles away from our home!
