About Mazo Beach
Mazo beach is a clothing optional beach located on the Wisconsin River in southern Wisconsin. Mazo is between Mazomanie and Sauk City on county highway Y. Mazo is truly a place where you can get away from the city life and relax in the sun. The people who frequent the beach are friendly and curtious. You'll never hear a boom box blasting in the back ground. However, if you are lucky someone may be playing a guitar. If your up to a game of volley ball the beach has a net set up, or you may want to canoe on the river. Willows surround the beach on one side, and picturest bluffs and cliffs line the river on the other side. Plan a picnic and enjoy your visit.
Directions to Mazo Beach
Entrance to Cedar Hills is no longer on Dunlap Hollow Rd, but is on Hwy 78. Take Racek Rd between Hwy 78/Cedar Hills and Hwy Y, to get to Mazo Beach.

Nudists flocking to Mazomanie Beach on the Wisconsin River will need to find another place to shed their clothing Monday through Friday.
The state Department of Natural Resources announced on Tuesday the popular spot for nudists will only be open on Saturdays and Sundays, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The reasons for the closing? Illicit sex in public, drug use and cruising for sex.
The closing takes effect immediately and continues through Sept. 15. In future years, the beach property will be closed Monday through Friday from March 1 through Sept. 15.
The property will be open seven days a week from Sept. 15 through March 1, but DNR spokesman Bob Manwell told Madison.com few sunbathers would be using it during the cold months, and it would be more utilized by hunters.
"The goal of this closure is to make Mazomanie Beach a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone who visits or floats past the area," said DNR Conservation Warden Nate Kroeplin in a news release.
"It is clear from our records the majority of illicit activity is taking place on weekdays," Kroeplin said. "Along with the closure we will add extra law enforcement presence."
The closure includes the entire property, the beach, islands immediately off the beach, and wooded areas. Public access won't be allowed from either land or the river.
Several years ago, the DNR closed wooded areas near Mazo Beach because of complaints of illicit sexual activity in the woods.
The beach is in the northwest corner of Dane County in the town of Mazomanie.
"National websites have portrayed Mazomanie Beach as a destination spot for naturist (nudist) activity," the release said.
"Some individuals from states as far away as Florida have traveled to the beach for this, and to look for a sexual encounter. Illegal drug use has also been documented."
Pros
Best Beach ever
Cons
3rd time

I love the relaxing feel and the setting on a midwest river is great. The beach area was smaller this year due to the high river. I haven't found too many friendly people here or maybe they just don't go out of their way with single men. If you like a small crowd and out of the way location this is a great spot. It's around a mile walk from the parking area so you either need lots of bug spray or a bicycle to avoid bites.
Pros
Peaceful, out of the way, few stalkers, great views
Cons
Not overly friendly, long walk with mosquitos, not much to do
