About
National Capital Sun Club focuses on the traditional clothing/optional beach at Assateague National Seashore. The seashore in question is actually a barrier island located just south of Ocean City, Maryland and is bisected by the Virginia/Maryland State line. For several years, nude recreationists have been using a portion of the Maryland section that is administered by the National Park Service (NPS). We do not advise using the Virginia section, which is administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife service, for nude recreation because of the Accomack County, Virginia anti-nudity ordinance that was passed in June of 1984. After numerous meetings with the Assateague National Seashore Management, we have decided that we can neither encourage nor discourage use of the north end of Assateague Island as a clothing optional beach..
