Ah the joy of helping others.

Today I had a doctor`s appointment where she told me my cholestrol was too high. She put me on a "special" diet to lower it as well as to lose weight. I`m glad she did, I`ve been overweight for a while not but haven`t been able to figure out what I should be eating so I don`t get sick while I`m losing the weight. On my way home I came across a car on the side of the highway with a flat tire. I have a habit of stoping to help people when I have the time to. So when I stopped I found there was a woman with three kids in the car. She had been sitting there for over an hour waiting for somebody to stop, but nobody did until I came along. It only took a few minutes to change the tire and get her on the way again. She offered to pay me, but I had the feeling she didn`t have a lot of extra money so I refused and gave her one of my business cards. I told her to recommend me to people she knew that might need my help. So far today alone I`ve gotten 5 new clients, all calling because she recommended me.  I can`t help but wonder what would have happened if I didn`t stop to help her. She could have sat there for hours, she could have had a dishonest person stop, who knows? But through a simple act of helping her she was grateful enough to do what I asked. For many years I`ve had people tell me I`m nuts for stopping to help a stranger. "What if they try to rob you?" I don`t carry cash, and I use a pre-paid credit card. All they would get is what`s on the card. "What if they steal your car?" I`m not worried about it, it`s so unique that it`s hard to miss. I`ve got a big window sign in the rear window that says, "What can hypnosis to do for you? Ask me." then has my phone number on it. "What if they kill you?" That would be the best thing! I can hardly wait to meet Jesus face to face! "What if...." No, no what ifs. God is in control and He will, and always has, protect me. I trust him fully, it`s too bad the others don`t.
