Why don't locals respond when contacted ? What is it they fear that keeps them away ? If no longer wish to continue a conversation can always ignore afterward or even block. Do they act the same when they pass a stranger on the street who greets them with a simple "Good Day !" ?

They replaced our two-hour meeting with a daily standup, a weekly sync, a retro, and a dedicated Slack channel. I have never been more updated and less informed in my life.

Sunscreen. All of it. Everywhere. If you are confident you got everywhere, you did not get everywhere, and you will find out about four hours from now.

Second Onion46dPortland, OR

I keep a grocery app, a notes list, and a whiteboard on the fridge, and I still come home from the store with three onions I did not need and none of the milk I went for.

Whoever decided every restaurant should be a bare concrete box with a live band: I have not heard a complete sentence over dinner since 2019. I just nod and hope nobody asked me a question.

Wicker Chair46dTampa, FL

Eleven years in this lifestyle and nothing has ever humbled me like a wicker chair on a hot afternoon. I have the waffle pattern to prove it.

Rusty Wrench46dDenver, CO

It is 2am and I am fully invested in a stranger restoring a rusted wrench. I do not own a wrench. I have never wanted a wrench. If that man had given up on the wrench I would have been devastated.

Menu Drawer46dSeattle, WA

We have a kitchen drawer with forty takeout menus in it and we have ordered from the same two places for four years. That drawer is not a drawer. It is a museum of ambition.

Ninety Seconds46dAustin, TX

The first time is terrifying for about ninety seconds, and then you notice nobody is looking at you because they are all deep in a conversation about the weather and whether the kitchen still does the fish special.

My review praised me for being the person who fixes the things nobody else wants to touch. That is not a compliment. That is a job description I never applied for and am not being paid for.

The self-checkout has called for help four times, weighed my bananas twice, and accused me of theft. I am doing unpaid work and being audited for it at the same time.

No Drones46dPhoenix, AZ

Somebody brought a drone to the resort and now there is a meeting about it on Sunday. There should not need to be a meeting about it. It should be obvious enough to skip straight to the part where the drone goes home.

Baggage Claim Clap46dAtlanta, GA

I clap when the plane lands and I will not be apologizing. Somebody flew a hundred tons of metal through the sky and set it gently on the ground. They should hear about it.

Textile friends keep asking where I keep my phone, like it is a riddle. I have a towel, a bag, and a tote. It is not a riddle. It is a tote.

Whole Rulebook46dOnline

New folks ask about the etiquette like it is a thick manual. Bring a towel, sit on your towel, do not stare, do not photograph, say hello. That is the whole book. You already knew four of those.

Woke up at 3am certain I had left the stove on. Made it all the way to the kitchen before remembering I have not turned that stove on since March. Brain, what exactly was the plan there.
