Is Naturism Colorblind?

Any True Nudist will know that people of all races and ethnicities are welcome in naturism. However, naturist media hasn’t always reflected that fact. While a member of theRacism – Beat It!group at True Nudists, I asked about whether the presence of “non-whites” was lower than in the population as a whole, and whether we were doing everything possible to reach out to non-whites. Unfortunately, like so many other groups here, it has become dormant. People join and then forget to get involved. So I quit the group and moved on to other matters. Recently, I came uponNaturism, Whites Only?at a blog maintained by The Naturist Review. This turned out to be a republished piece which first appeared at iNaked/iNudist. Normally I would refer you to that article, but the blog is now open to invited readers only. How unfortunate. Google has a cached version of the article for now (as of Easter Saturday 2010). I don’t know how long that will last. (UPDATE: Tryhttp://i-naked.tumblr.com/post/421645689/naturism-is-colourblind.) This also led to a piece from Tom Mulhall at theterracottainn blog,Is nudism for whites only or is it color blind?A reaction piece, but positive. Of course, it’s still a view from a non-white person who, as far I can tell, was born and raised in the United States or Europe. It would be nice to get some kind of perspective from non-white people living in Latin America, Africa, Asia, Australia/NewZealand and all the other areas of the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Oceans. Maybe the Inuit would have a perspective to offer, too.
