I started to do a blog on my nude fishing trips and discontinued when couldn't add pictures. Now that I have learned what I was doing wrong, I am going to start it back up. This pic was taken in March 2007 at my private lake: This bass was caught April 26, 2008 at private lake. Here I am with two bass I caught Memorial Day weekend 2008 I went out to my favorite fishing spot on January 18,2009 and the lake is so low the fishing wasn't good. I would normally be in chest deep water in the pic below. The pontoon boat we use as a floating dock normally floats level instead of precarious angle it is at this time. This shows how bad we need rain here 2/6/09 I went out to lake to see if fishing would be any good. It was too windy so didn't even try. I just sat in sun and enjoyed being outdoors. 2/12/09 Went out to lake for a bit, was windy and not even the perch were biting. At least was able to get out and get some sun, 2/13/09 Went back out to lake since was calm day. While I was standing on dock, saw a large swirl next to the newly formed island caused by lake being so low. I stared casting my favorite lure, a purple worm, to the area but caught just a small bass that I threw back since was not legal size. I was disappointed because the one that had made the swirl must have been at least five pounds. The big one was too cautious since I had caught the small one and wouldn't take the lure. I started casting to a stump that was in another area and on third cast had a fish hit so hard it tore my lure in half. I put a new worm on and tried again. I caught another small bass that I released. It was a great day of fishing even though the catching was lousy. LOL In the picture below, you can see the small island which has formed 2/18/09 Went back out to the lake to try some fishing. The water is still murky from the rains and was a bit windy. The fish weren't biting so just relaxed a bit. The water level is up about two feet so was able to use the boat. In this pic you can see that the water has covered the small island that had formed in previous picture. 2/24/09 It was a beautiful day here but a bit windy. The fish weren't biting so I settled for working on my tan. Will be adding more pics and stories soon. Hopefully we will get some rain to fill the lake back up so that the fishing will be better. I went out fishing today and caught a largemouth bass about three pounds on my usual purple worm with white tail. I caught it in the shallows next to the small island. Later while I was working my way up stream, I saw a swirl next to log resting on the shore. I cast my worm to that spot and something immediately hit it and began a run straight towards my boat. It never made the normal pause to suck it in better so it only had it by the tail and I missed it. Here is the fish I caught. When it was nearly dark, I baited up my trot line for catfish. I alternated calf liver and fat trimmed off a brisket. I found out that the catfish prefer their fat cooked to the raw one. The first time I ran it, I had only caught two loggerhead snapping turtles. The next two times I ran it, I caught two yellow cats about two pounds each. I didn’t have any more luck on the next couple of runs so I just called it a night. When I checked it again in the morning, I had another yellow cat about pound and a half. I went back to the lake to do more fishing but went too late to do any bass fishing. I baited my trot line again with liver and fat and enjoyed evening sitting by campfire and drinking coffee between times to run the line. It was pleasant enjoying the peace of the night with only the sounds of crickets, frogs, and coyotes. I have had friends say they love hearing coyotes, but it is a bit much when you hear them all around you howling while hunting. I caught three yellow cats between one and two pounds plus another snapping turtle. I kept fish in large ice chest during the night so that I wouldn’t lose them to turtles. Here is a pic of the catfish./ This is 3 ft alligator gar I caught on 6/3/92/18/11 It was a nice sunny day here, wind was light and great for fishing. I was using my usual purple worm when I caught this nice bass. It was real fighter, even did a couple of tail dances afer I put it on stringer. Hope to get back out more over weekend.3/31/11 It was a beautiful day, sunny and mid 80s when I went out to lake. I started with my usual purple worm with white tail, but was only getting tail strikes by small ones. I decided to try something new and caught 6 black bass before I lost the tail of the lure. I also caught a couple of small largemouth bass, but they were too small to keep. Here are the crappie (black bass) I caught. It was another beautiful day, sunny and 90 so I went back out. I caught a nice largemouth bass and 7 crappie. I had to quit because my stringer was full. lol Here is todays catch. This is the lure I had such good luck with.4/17/11 I went fishing again, was great day for it, caught a couple of crappie and a bass before lunch. I stopped fishing because my son and friends were coming over, but this is what I caught. After they left, I went fishing again and caught two more bass and a crappie, the largest bass was 7 pounds and a real fighter.5/24/11 I wwent back out to lake only fished long enough to catch supper.
