Summer in Florida! Damn it!

As a life long Floridian, I should be used to this weather.   There are two things we expect in Florida and that is 2 days of winter and 363 days of summer.  And during the summer, we expect our afternoon showers right at 4 pm when we`re trying to think of going home from the salt mines.   This year has been the pits!   First off we have two weeks of artic cold air which just about killed every plant in our subtropical back yard.   Now we`re into almost a week of rain.   And not just our regular afternoon showers but these damn day long overcast with rain.  There has been no sun to dry us out.  Did I wake up in Seattle?   The worse part is the yard.  Living in the swamps of northwest Tampa, we have a shallow water table.  Hell, my living room floor is at 8.3 feet MSL.  So I expect it to be sometimes soggy.  But for Christ`s sake, I have a freaking lake in my side yard.   Tried to mow which is desperately over due and the water was inside the blade area of the Toro.  I was wacking the standing water big time and what was cut simply clogged up the lawn mower.   This has got to stop.  My yard looks like shit!  Not that it`s anything from Better Homes and Gardens but it was kinda nice.  Unless we get some sun to dry this out, I`m gonna have a freaking jungle out there followed by a letter from the HOA.
