Avoiding Those Kitchen Mishaps.

Most home accidents occur in the kitchen, but almost all of them are avoidable. I have found out the hard way, just how dangerous it can be, to allowing distraction from what your doing.   Removing a large heavy pan from the oven, using a towel so not to burn my fingers, I placed the pan onto the hob, then answered the phone to someone.  It was a wrong number, so walked back to the cooker and picked up the hot pan, Ouch,, my fingers stuck to it.  Allowing to be distracted for those few seconds, caused a nasty burn. Good job I had some bicarbonate of soda handy, ( if used on the burn within 30 seconds, it wil cool and relieve the pain almost instantly ).   I very seldom answer the phone or the door anymore, when cooking.  Another annoying time for the phone or doorbell to ring, is after just sitting dow to enjoy your meal. Half an hour later, back to the table and finish eating a stone cold roast.When cooking or eating,Don't do a thing,Just let it ring.
