The run for the 2012 Presidential election has begun. Obama has already declaired his intention to run. The Republicans are searching for someone to run against our sitting President in November of 2012. There are a lot of tired old faces out there but I recently attended a gathering of grass roots individuals and met a man who, I feel, can rescue our Country from the malaise in which we now find ourselves. His name is Herman Cain. Please check him out. His web site is hermancain.com. Go to the News Room page and listen to some of his past speeches and interviews. Personally I found him to be very intelligent, charismatic and articulate with a very deep grasp of the problems facing America and the World today.
I urge you to check him out and, if you feel as I do, send him a donation. Oh, by the way, the first thing you will notice about Mr. Cain and he will tell you this, is he is Black.
Herman Cain has an up hill battle in getting recognized. The reason for this is he is Obama's worst nightmare. The main stream media has a problem with him because he completely destroys their argument that the Republicans are racists. They therefore will not report upon any of his campaign activities. Despite the fact that he is receiving so little media coverage, he is continueing to rise in the polls.
The media doesn't portray Republicans as racist.  Just TeaBaggers.
First of all, you're dead wrong about Republicans not being portrayed as racists. Not in all instances of their mention, but enough of them.   Second, your use of the term "Teabaggers" is a deliberate smear (implying homosexual activities) of a group of people who simply have a political viewpoint different than yours. Is this acceptable behavior from someone constantly reminding others they're moderators here?  Once again you prove diversity-loving liberals are some of the biggest hypocrites around. And while I'm at, please explain why the Tea Party is considered racist by anyone. If you do, please cite clear, concise examples in lieu of emotional outbursts.

Lets all agree on one thing and that is to vote for experience and not what you voted for last time.  You know what is happening with this one.
I'm a Republican, a Teabagger, and an ultraconservative, but I'm not a racist or sexist. I just think that big government should stay out of our lives!
That sounds more Libertarian.  I am socially liberal and fiscally conservative and at this time SC you don't have to declare a party affiliation

I'm a Conservative Republican with Libertarian leanings, tea party patriot, and now a Herman Cain supporter thanks to a recent post by I think DesertRat or DanandJanette a few months ago.  We need a man with his integrity as a champion for smaller government.  I'm liking what I'm hearing from him.

Well as I said under my foum post he is impressive but flat taxes are flat earth theory, its way too simplistic unless they completly overhaul the complete tax system, the structure is way too complex and clever tax lawyers will use complex structures to minimise tax. I worry that his approach will simply favour corporates and the failure of the supply side economics is not acknowledged. The US needs to raise taxes to pay the debt, something that seems to be in denial or massively cut Defense. I saw a report of the 6 senators 3 DEM and 3 gOP guys who are meeting to pull together a common solution.
    Cheers
The media doesn't portray Republicans as racist.  Just TeaBaggers.
The name "Tea Party" is a reference to the Boston Tea Party, a protest by colonists who objected to a British tax on tea in 1773 and demonstrated by dumping British tea taken from docked ships into the harbor. Some commentators have referred to the Tea in "Tea Party" as the acronym "Taxed Enough Already"

I know who Herman is and he is a very bright individual. Just think how great it would have been for race relations and our country if Thomas Sowell would have been our first black president? Anyone using the term teabagger is a complete moron and should be kicked off the site. We can all have our differences but calling someone a homosexual slur to insult them is rediculous. Yes you see idiot we don't care if you are homosexual we now have the big tent. If you are homosexual that is your preference just don't shove it down our throats! No pun intended. On the other hand if you think a snail darter or a spotted owl is more important than a human then yep we have a problem

I hope Obama loses, but he has the Democrates, unions, John Soros, blacks, hispanics on his side.  He was only voted in because of color and had no experience.

The TEA party movement is both a reference to the Boston Tea Party fighting unfair taxes as well as Taxed Enough Already, hence being capitalized.  Our local group is definately not racist, one of the prominant members is Jamacian and recently was congratulated for becoming a citizen.  We are non partisan, we are conservatives.  We have elected officials from both parties as members.

OK folks, it’s time to think about who we want for our next President. But right now that is not really the issue. The main question we have to ask our selves is:Do we want to win the White House or not?If the answer is yes, then we have to throw out all of the issues and ideologies and thinkstrategy. The question is not, who do we want for President? The question iswho can beat Obama? In the next Presidential campaign, we have one very big and powerful foe to defeat. That is thevery biased, liberal media. They have the most powerful voice in the Country and they must be neutralized. There is only one candidate who can do this. His name is Herman Cain. By nominating him as the standard bearer of the Republican Party, he will completely neutralize the media’s favorite and most used weapon against all Republicans. That Republicans are all racists. After that,Obama’s record just falls apart. Is Herman Cain everyone’s favorite candidate? No. But, is he the only candidate who will defeat the liberal media? A resounding YES! Remember my original question.Do we want to win the White House or not?If your answer is yes then you must supportHerman Cain for President. DesertRat, Phoenix AZ Friends, If you agree with me, there are two things that I would ask you to do. First: Please forward this to everyone in your address book, especially those people in the early primary and caucus States. And secondly send a donation to Mr. Cain. If 1 million people would only send $25, that would be a campaign chest of 25 million dollars. If you do not know who Herman Cain is, please go to his web page, hermancain.com and check him out.
the donkey party  have a very big problem because herman  cain is black  and the donkeys do not know what to do about it
Apparently you are a little confused with your viewpoint after me trying to read the post from your viewpoint. Thank goodness, that is only a viewpoint. No, I did not vote for the guy in office not because he is black, but because he scared me to death with his "credentials" and experience....what credentials??? and what experience?  Not much there except as a community organizer (instigator from my viewpoint and backing from questionable supporters! As a Senator....not much voting, a lot of absenteeism. Amazed that no one remembers him from Harvard (Interesting stories about his so-called time there)! I am sick to death of his changing all the foundations of our Government "for and by the people" that has worked under the ancient Constitution for so long and wanting to make the US literally bow at the feet of other Countries! To further address your "Knowledge", I was a registered Democrat all my life until the party took the direction at the last election and discouragement from Democrat views of prior years before Obamageddon!! I changed affilitation because of this! No, other parties do have questionable issues! I look on my election voting as not always voting for the best person who may not be there, so I vote against the worst instead! In reference to your insinuations, yes, I would vote for Herman Cain unless someone else jumps out with a better plan! That is not in line with your thinking about Donkeys! Of course, I am only speaking from my viewpoint also!

Now that he has officially become a candidate, we can really evaluate him. It should prove to be great theatre watching the liberal news media try to make mince meat out of him.

He needs to bone up on foreign policy detail quickly or later the press will make mincemeat of him. A naive approach about the lack of political experience may appear cute or desirable but to serious people the a businessman has often failed in political office, its a different skill set. I admire herman his intellect honesty etc but lets remember dealing with Congress the machinery of government is very different. Reagean and Tip O'Neill sharing a drink and doing a deal is very different from running a pizza business. We shall see

I do remember statements myself although, maybe not worded as such! I do know we do not have 57 United States also!

Watch CNN at 8:00 EDT tonight 6-13-2011 for a candidates' debate. I'm always impressed at what Mr. Cain, "The Hermanator", has to say.

BoR dismissed Herman as having no chance and the delightful Anne Coulter made the obersvation that noone with no record of public office has had much success. Is this time around any different? He hasn't demonstrated that furher tax cuts will boost investment etc. You guys already have low taxes the nature of wold cpital has changed so the old solutions are not relevant. I don't think an Independent voter will vote for Bachman, she will rally the right wing but scare everyone else.

No matter who is elected, keep in mind this one little humorous quote that has some credibility due to history:
"If you put the Federal Government in charge of the Sahara Desert, in five years, there would probably be a shortage of sand"!

I would like to see some proud Federal govt employees show that the Fox network and tea party agenda is not mainstream and have a proud record of achievement in some fields.

Most of the media is not "truthful" in my opinion!  It seems to me that most all behind some agenda or a candidate and adjust the story to their benefit!  It is similar to gossip in that each person who passes the info on, adjusts it to suit them or make it "more interesting"!  It is just like an English Teacher told me once, "Adverbs and adjectives can sometimes change the whole outlook and meaning of a sentence". I depend on Fox to somewhat relate the truth as they seem to cover somewhat both sides of an issue most of the time, but you do know where they stand!
