A friend of mine wants to do a dare with me. He would drive me to one of those clothing donation bins where I would strip naked and put the clothes in the bin. From there he would leave me there for a while, maybe drive me around naked or, if the bin was close enough make me walk back naked. Has anyone ever done anything like this?
Jim-Marie-Yardart, doing the dare in another town is DEFINITELY something to consider! There is a town close by that I visit on occasion. The next time I'm out that way I will have to see if I can locate any donation bins in any of the parking lots around town. Thanks for the suggestion. Johngw, I enjoy driving nude, too, and have done some fairly long drives (3 hours up and down the freeway). Doing selfies while driving just requires the usual care and attention to the road while framing the photo and driving at the same time. It seems to me that photographing the donation bin dare using a camera mounted on a tripod (and thus eliminating the need for a wingman) would be too time consuming. First one would have to drive to the location, determine the right spot for the camera, set up the tripod and camera, and then walk to the car. Once back at the car, one could begin stripping and discarding clothes, while pausing every once in a while to activate the shutter (via remote control), or at least activate the camera ONCE, if using a phone to create a video of the event. Either way, once the dare is complete, one would have to go and collect the camera and tripod before getting BACK in the car and driving away. I may be wrong, and please feel free to correct me if I am, but that process seems waaaay to long. It would seem easier to simply enlist the help of an accomplice. It ALSO occurred to me that the NUMBER of items being donated could add to the duration of the dare. Shoes, socks, pants, underwear, shirt, each taking a few seconds to remove and place in the bin? Each placed in the bin INDIVIDUALLY or all tossed in all at once? Would the bare (no pun intended) minimum be an old pair of thongs, some old shorts and an old t-shirt? I wonder if you can tell that I'm having a blast just working on the planning and the logistics??? LOL.
Simple answer is use a smart phone camera on a selfie stick, thats how i take the majority of my pictures, thus eliminating the need to set up a camera

Johngw & Stancheshire, using a phone camera to chronicle the event is a GOOD IDEA, however, in and of itself, it does't reduce the exposure time factor nor the perspective.

Johngw, setting up a phone camera STILL requires setting it up... and THEN going and retrieving it. And, of course, AFTER doing the dare, one would have to retrieve the phone camera NUDE. When minimizing exposure time is almost as important as doing the dare, the tripod option is still less desirable than having a wingman.

Stan, using a phone camera on a selfie stick has some inherent problems of its own. For example, how do you hold onto a selfie stick AND frame a photo WHILE you are taking off your clothes to put in the donation bin?

And a FINAL HURDLE, for an old troglodyte like ME, is: downloading and editing the video.

I appreciate the comments, the tips, AND the input... but I guess I'll just have to WAIT until my sidekick replies to my request that he join me. I feel EXTREMELY confident that he will be more than happy to do the dare with me....WHEN we can work out the timing and details!

As far as setting up the camera, etc. I have found that a clip-style camera mount clipped on a half-open car window is the best bet for this sort of dare and using the camera set to take lots of pictures at 1, 2, 5 or ten-second intervals is a good substitute for the video technique.
The two advantages are that most of the setting up can be done at leisure inside the parked car and afterwards you only need to jump in the car and drive off, stopping later to de-mount the camera.
You can delete all the unwanted pictures later (or keep them if you prefer). I'll try to get a picture of my set-up to attach to this post as a guide.

Having put some thought into this dilemma, i have decided on a selection of all your suggestions, i am proposing to use my phone, attached to the car on a sucker or clip cradle, and use the remote button from my selfie stick, which i can click for pictures or to start a video

Stancheshire, your solution sounds very do-able! A phone that's capable of being activated by a remote control, clipped or otherwise mounted to your vehicle, should be able to document the completion of the dare perfectly. Are you going to do a dress rehearsal (no pun intended!) before you do the actual dare? Either way, please let us know how it goes. Cheers! And, good luck!

Stancheshire, Enjoy your holiday! I hope you get to practice some daring nudity while you're away! We'll look forward to your return and your doing the donation bin dare.

Since Johngw made the suggestion, I did a practice run of putting my DSLR INSIDE the vehicle. Mounted on its tripod, it fits very nicely just behind the driver's seat, with a great wide-angle view out the passenger's window. No need for a wingman...AND... no time consumed setting the camera up and then having to retrieve it. I have also done several RECON runs on the bin location that I intend to use. The area around the bin is QUITE busy during the day so I'll have to my bin dare in the evening.

I'm all set! Just have to wait for the right conditions!
A reply and a RECON update:Minimalist, if you don't have any underwear to donate then I guess YOUR minimum number of items could be reduced to three: some old flip-flops, some old shorts and an old t-shirt. LOL. But, regardless of the number of items donated, I think you may find that the THRILL of the dare actually begins when you FIRST remove an item to toss in the donation bin. The GOAL, of course, is to get NAKED, but the ACT of stripping off your clothes should be (?) part of the FUN.! My normal number of items I wear when driving in summer is1, shorts. I do generally have a shirt and sandals in the car because I will need the to get into the place where I am going or need to make a rest room stop along the way. I have gone to a drive through fast food restaurant or bank with no clothing except the shorts I am wearing in the car.
But if I ever got the nerve to do the clothing donation dare, I would wear more clothes to increase my strip time.

If a person was going to do this dare solo from a car - how far do yall expect the person doing the dare to park from the bin ? Is the dare considered successful if you park right next to it?, or should there be a minimum distance in the challenge? A friend has made his suggestion - I wondered what yall think is good

I haven't done this dare ... yet. But I'm planning on having the camera far enough away to capture full body shots AND the bin. I think the distance from the bin to the camera might be dictated by the circumstances, like location, possible traffic, roving security, etc. I plan on doing the dare after hours at the shopping center where the donation bin is located. Hopefully the parking lot will be mostly empty and I can chose my location for the camera that will be INSIDE my car... but each person doing the dare has to decide what is best for THEM.

I went to a goodwill store with two of my friends
I was wearing a T-shirt, shorts and underwear and crocs
We walked into the back of the store
The dare was that I would have to donate my T-shirt and shorts
I also had a bag of clothes to donate
There was a lady that I turned over the bag of clothes to
And then my friends told me to donate my shorts and T-shirt as well
I took off my shorts and T-shirt and handed them to her
I took off my underwear and handed that to her as well, leaving me naked, except for crocs
We then walked out of the store with me naked

Minimalist, due to some unfortunate health issues, I had to take a bit of an extended hiatus from this site. I'm BACK now and I'm pleased to see that this particular thread is still active! I still intend to complete this dare! Conditions should be "right" in the upcoming month of June. Evening temperatures here in the southern hemisphere MIGHT be a bit cool but that may just make for a QUICKER "strip-n-go". It is still my intention to document the event with a full set of photos!

Stay tuned!

Minimalist, thank you for the welcome back. I recently had occasion to actually use one of the donation bins at the shopping center near me, so I used the visit as a bit of a recon run for late in June when it will be time to do the ACTUAL dare. From my visit, I figure "distance to the bin from my car", for photography purposes will not be an issue nor a problem. I will be able to park directly in front of the bin, with enough distance to capture full body photos. My camera will be mounted on a tripodinsidemy car and activated by remote control. I will do a test run on that aspect of the dare soon. The one thing I have yet to determine is what, if any, security the shopping center has "after hours". An external, roving patrol MIGHT be a bit of a problem... but NOT insurmountable if they make regular "rounds"...??? I still find the dare exciting and I'm looking forward getting it done!
Won't it be chilly in June in Australia for being nude outdoors?
Minimalist, yes, the weather will have turned pretty chilly in the evenings by that time of year, here in the southern hemisphere, but I live on the east coast (about 3 hours north of Sydney) and our evening temperatures are usually in the 9 to 10 degree Celsius range That's between 48 and 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Like I mentioned, that may encourage a QUICK strip-and-donate activity...but I don't think that will be cold enough to actually prevent the event. Little Willie Jr. may not be much in evidence, though! LOL

I'm a few blocks from a strip mall and there is a donation store. I walked through the back and the service road. Walked around the front, put in my clothes, and had to walk home naked. Spray but such a rush. Probably do it again.

CLW2866, Congratulations on doing the Clothing Donation Bin dare!

It sounds like you had an exciting time! I would love to hear more details from your adventure, such as: approximately how far from your home is the strip mall? what time in the evening did you do the dare? was the parking lot at the strip mall completely empty...or were there cars around?

If you get the opportunity to do the dare again, what are the chances that you might be able to document the event with a photo or two to post here?
