Mar 11, 2015Out of habit, I always drive barefoot. Not just because I prefer to be barefoot in general, but because it also helps me to feel much more in touch with the pedals and the road. What's surprising is how so many people think the practice is somehow discouraged or even illegal. For those of you in the U.S., rest easy. Driving barefoot is totally legal in all 50 states! And from what I've read, the same holds true in most (if not all) other countries as well.
So who else is a barefoot driver? What do you like, or maybe not like, about driving in bare feet?

Jun 16, 2019I've been driving barefoot since 2009 and going barefoot almost as long. I keep my shoes and flip flops in the car "in case I need them". Ive been driving barefoot for so long that I'm uncomfortable driving with shoes.

Before then, I only drove barefoot in the summer, when I wore flip flops. Only in 2006, and until now, do I regularly drive barefoot, and walk barefoot even outside the home.ReactReply
