Apr 16, 2011I thought since tomorrow is Palm Sunday and we are begining the week of the crucifixion of our Risen Savior I'd just post an interesting study I found about the timeline:
Frontwords:
Saturday – Lazarus’s house and His anointing - John 12:1-11
Sunday – Triumphal Entry - John 12:12-13:38
Monday – Fig Tree Cursing and Temple Cleaning - Mark 11:1-19, Matthew 21:12-16
Tuesday – Dried up Fig Tree and Temple Teaching - Mark 11:20-12:1, Mark 13:1-4
Wednesday – Brunch at Simons (2nd Anointing), Dinner with the Apostles (Last Supper) and Betrayal - Mark 14:1-11, Matt 26:1-Matt 27:1
Thursday – Trial, Crucifixion and Burial - John 18:28-19:42, Mark 15:33-47
Backwords:
Saturday evening / Sunday morning – “and the evening and the morning were the 1st day”
Friday evening / Saturday morning – “and the evening and the morning were the 2nd day”
Thursday evening / Friday morning – “and the evening and the morning were the 3rd day”
It would appear based on the Scriptural account that Christ was indeed crucified on Thursday not Friday...I still think Friday is good, I mean come on it is Friday!

Apr 16, 2011This doesn't coincide with traditional celebrations during Holy Week.

Amazing huh, that tradition might disagree with the Scriptural account. Makes you wonder what else...
