HOW TO COPY AND PASTE TO A FORUM POST.If you just paste something straight onto the forum, or the Bulletins, It will show up all the HTML code as well, and look a right mess.
This is how you can get around that.
If you copy anything from the net, or write a piece on Outlook Express, (same probably goes for Word and other programmes) Spellcheck it, but BEFORE you post it on the forum, paste it onto NOTEPAD, copy it AGAIN from there, BEFORE you paste it in the forum, this will LOSE all the HTML code, and it will come out all right. That is, IF you remember to do it, but now that TT1 has added an Edit button, you do now get another chance :)

PhilfreeeukUrsprünglicher VerfasserDec 13, 2008#04. E-MAIL TIPS.Re SENT MESSAGES.1) If you go "My Account" "Sent" (in your Contact Manager) you can see if the message you sent has been read yet. 2) If you mail someone, and don't check to see if it has appeared in your sent folder, and they delete it, it will also disappear from your sent folder. You will then have no record of ever having written to them and you might be left wondering if they actually received it.Re PHANTOM E-MAIL NOTIFICATIONS.Tom (txag_1975 ) just made a good point that could well explain some of the phantom notifications we get. If TT deletes a spammers profile, and they have already sent you spam that you have not yet seen, you will have the notification of the message, but the message will have disappeared from your inbox when he deletes the profile, before you even saw it. So you may think some messages are not getting through to youReagierenAntworten - PH
PhilfreeeukUrsprünglicher VerfasserDec 13, 2008#05. FORUM TIP.The forum did have me pretty confused for a looooong time too, So I'll repeat this here for anyone that hasn't yet got to grips with it. The easiest way to keep up, is to keep an eye on the recent forum activity on the home page (when it's working) BUT, you have to check it 2-3 times a day, EVERY day, and even then, if it gets busy, you can still miss new comments and posts if they disappear off the bottom of the list. The only way to be sure, is to forget the home page, go straight to the forum. Look down the right-hand side at the "last posts" for the number of hours since you last checked. So if it's breakfast time and you were on last night, you're looking for anything that is 8 or to be on the safe side, 10 hours ago. Don't click on the post, go across to the left and click on THAT posts FORUM. That shows you all the posts in THAT forum and there might be a recent comment on ANOTHER post that you will not have seen. Then click on the post to see the new comment, and after, hit the back button to see any other recent activity in the SAME forum. If none, (or when you've read them) click back again to the main forum list, and go down the list as before, looking for 8-10 hours ago, and do the same process for all the forums that have had recent activity. That imho, is the only way to be sure you don't miss anything. It would be much easier, it the recent activity list on the home page was twice as long, it has been requested ages ago, perhaps this will jog TT's memory. Phil.
You might think that some of these are obvious, but when you're new here, it's not always the case.
You can also do a key word search on each individual forum title list, by clicking on, Edit, Find ( on this page)ReagierenAntworten - PH

PhilfreeeukUrsprünglicher VerfasserJan 3, 2009#08 GROUP SEARCH TIP.If your group has dropped off the bottom of the group list, you can find it with the search tool at the top of the page. You can find a group, even if you don't know the name, by searching (one at a time) the letters of the alphabet that have dropped off the bottom. The results are in alphabetical order, so although it will show for example, all the groups with a "w" in the Title, all that START with a "W" are at the bottom of the results list. EDIT. The list is fixed now, TT's must have made it accept more entries :)ReagierenAntworten - PH

I re-read the camera instruction sheet. I re-loaded the cd. I peeked in at other camera owners. Finally I ignored the conversation in the chat room and posted a question. How do I get the camera to work? Several members made suggestions. I had already tried everything they suggested. Then a member named GreenHornet said to click on the "V" for video. How simple. It worked. Where could I have found that information? Is there an instruction link? Another question. I know if a member has an "A" and/or a "V" next to their name it means they have a camera. What does it mean when the symbols turn blue? And why do they? How do members figure out all of this? earlashcroft Replied: Tom, If the blue V show it means that person is viewing your cam EDIT: Sep 9th 2010.Chat Room Moderator F.A.Q'SCHAT Problems?....(Links to chat related threads)ReagierenAntworten - PH

They are: 000 Posts = Textile 011 Posts = barefoot. 051 Posts = topless 101 Posts = Undies Only 251 Posts = Butt Naked 501 Posts = Super Nudist At this point in time, what happens after Super Nudist, we just don't know.ReagierenAntworten - PH
PhilfreeeukUrsprünglicher VerfasserJan 26, 2009Tip #012 Correcting a Forum quote disaster.Even though I am careful where I put the curser, when I'm quoting someone in the forum, sometimes when I hit submit, it throws a wobbler and it all goes crazy. If this happens to you, hit "edit" .....highlight ALL of the text, right click and then cut. Paste it all onto Notepad and remove any code. Then, right at the beginning of the piece you want to quote, type the word, quote and enclose it in square brackets. [ **quote**"* (with no stars, had to do it here to make it show up, end it with a square bracket too, for some reason it has come out as v on it's side, forget what they call it) then at the end of the quote type the word quote again, but this time add a forward slash behind the first bracket [/**quote**"* .... (without the stars, square bracket at the end) .....paste it all back into your post, and it should be ok. Although it affects all the subsequent posts, you will find that if you post several "filler" posts, until you get to a new page, the new page will not be affected. Tip. To read it when it has all gone wrong and become too small to see, just temporarily paste it all into a new page or message somewhere on your computer, and it will come out readable. Phil.

PhilfreeeukUrsprünglicher VerfasserFeb 2, 2009#13 VISITS INFO.This was an exchange in the forum that may well help someone else, so I'll paste it here. When I attempt to edit our "Visits" section, the pulldown menu has no options and, after entering dates and confirming, nothing happens. Am I missing something? Are you trying to edit the “Places I Visit” section or the “Upcoming Visits” section? You can only add places to the “Upcoming Visits” section if they are already in your “Places I Visit” section. To add places to that section go to the locations page, find the location you are looking for, then click on the add to my locations. Thanks for the instruction. It's working as you described. No problem....Glad I could helpReagierenAntworten - PH
PhilfreeeukUrsprünglicher VerfasserFeb 4, 2009#14 HOW TO ADD A PICTURE TO YOUR POST.Captain_Curmudgeon said: Got a message from Phil asking for information on how to pictures in the postings. Here's how: See that little tree up thereon the Message tool bar, next to the smiley? Click it and an Insert/Edit Image box pops up. It's got three tabs and lots of boxes but the only one you absolutely need to fill is "Image URL." "Image URL" is the net address of the picture you want to appear. Now that does mean that you have to be able to get your picture on the net somewhere. If you have your own website, that's easiest. Otherwise, you may want to use something like Flickr. If you see the photo someplace on the net, you can rightclick it (with Firefox anyway) a get a little dropdown menu. Click "Copy image location" and it will put in your clipboard what you want to paste in the Inset/Edit Image "Image URL" box. PS. You can use the Copy image location trick to post photos from your collection here on truenudist. E.G. My reply: Thanks a lot Captain! I'm still on win98, so had to right click on the pic, left click on properties and copy the url from the properties box. then paste it in as you described. click insert and you may get a warning that says ........"Are you sure you want to continue without including an Image Description? Without it the image may not be accessible to some users with disabilities, or to those using a text browser, or browsing the Web with images turned off." ......click OK. If it comes up with "NOT FOUND. The requested URL was not found on this server. " click on the "BACK" button, then go up and click on groups and come back to your post that way and it should be there! Thanks again Captain, I've been wondering how you do that for months :) Phil.
EDIT:
If you want to post a pic from YOUR own album here, it is still possible, even though TT has effectively disabled the "right click and copy" function for other peoples pics.
To post one of YOUR own pics, you now need to go to ... "My Account" ... "Edit My" ... "pictures" ... Find the pic you want to post, click on "View Comments" (this will open it up to full size) Right click on it, then click on properties to get the url, or you can just left click on copy, and then just paste it in.
If you copy a thumbnail pic (as opposed to a full size pic) or a thumbnail's url, your post will come out as a thumbnail.

PhilfreeeukUrsprünglicher VerfasserJul 9, 2009#22 PICTURE POSTING TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS.Tip from Gator1. Reiterating what Jen said about file size, I'll back that up. Each of the last two times I uploaded photos, they originally appeared as "ask me for a photo"...then I remembered that I had not reduced them. I went back to Picasa, reduced them, and like magic they were there. LOL, I'll probably forget next time, too. Also, for you folks that need software to reduce, Google's Picasa (free download) is super easy to use, and has many other functions. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ From Curt44319. For any non-M$ users, ( *nix ) XV and Kuickview can both resize easily. XV simply drag the corner to whatever you like, then save. Done. GIMP is not so intuitive, but can also do a resize, as well as anything a professional image editing suite can do, and more. ( and free ) _____________________________________________________________________________________I have 4 friends that have the same picture. Why is that happening? There is a glitch in the system, if someone does not have one of their pics set as profile pic it puts that pic up. The solution for them is to go to set one of their pics as their profile pic. From what I have seen it only happens when they delete the pic that was their profile pic, if no pic is loaded the just get the ask me for pic. (answer from Thomas (txag_1975)ReagierenAntworten - PH
PhilfreeeukUrsprünglicher VerfasserJul 10, 2009#023 THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BEING A CERTIFIED TN AND NOT.
Quote From minxdragon So what is the difference between being a "certified True Nudist" and a regular member? what are the majority of members? I'm brand new to the site so forgive me if this has been answered before.
Being certified is a verification process that shows site admin that you are who you say you are. 2 pics: one nude, one clothed both holding a sign with your user name and the words True Nudist written on it. That proves you are who you say you are because you can't pull that off the internet. It verifies that you are a "real" person. Jen (cuddlebutton)
thanks for that, I guess what I mean is, what is the difference between being a certified member and being a regular member - are there different privileges? are most people certified?
There are two chat rooms, one for any member and one for certified members only. There are forum threads that you can only access if you are certified. Can anyone think of anything else that I might be missing here? But the main reason to certify is validity that you are who you say you are. When we are sent friends requests, there are three things we immediatly look for - is the profile filled out, is there more than one picture (it's easy to lift one pic from the net, more difficult to get a second pic of the same person) and are they certified. If the answer is no to all of those, then we can only assume that the profile is a fake. (Learned this from experience and while that may eliminate us from meeting one or two very nice people, we've found that it helps to eliminate many fakes, pervs, picture collectors.) If any one of those three is met, we proceed with caution and have our own verification procedure. This is just the way we do it, many others may feel differently about it. After having had horrendous experiences on other "nudist" sites, we really liked the certification aspect of this site. Hope this helps answer your question!ReagierenAntworten - PH
