Feb 9, 2011Why is it that when you see a group, it shows a number of members but when you go into the group itself the actual number of profiles may be far less.? Not the end of the world, but just curious

Feb 9, 2011I raised this very question two weeks ago in a group I belong to. There are 68 "phantom" members. The group was showing 248 members yet only 180 profiles actually show.

It's caused by a group creator who has set his group up for approval and then not approving or denying members. It's also caused when a member leaves the site or has their profile removed - if they didn't quit the group first, the system still registers them as being a member of the group even though their profile no longer exists.
