Over 300 million people live under the US Constitution but very few people really know or understand its true meaning. Even some members of Congress are completely ignorant of what is contained in this document. Actually the Constitution is not so much a set of rules of what people can do, but is a set of rules of what the government CAN NOT do.

Today people are attacking this document as being out dated and not right for our times. Islamists are saying that a much older doctrine, Sharia law, should replace it entirely. Others are pushing for the laws of the United Nations to over rule the Constitution.

These Constitutional detractors are becoming relentless in their efforts and if they are successful the only out come will be total anarchy.

Therefore it is up us, We the People, to protect and defend the Constitution from these evil forces. We can best do that by studying the Constitution and learning the true meaning of what it says and what it means. I believe that any person, regardless of nationality, would be willing to defend the ideals of the Constitution, if they truly understood the document.

I did read it, I just skimmed over some of the minutia-the details of the Iran-Iraq war. Due to the length, I'm guessing a lot of people, as you wrote, zoned out.
Things that happened between 1945 & 1990 must be viewed in the context of the Cold War and the implications that Communist rule would have over the world. To view those actions in the context of the post-Cold War era, rather than in their true context is intellectually dishonest; it;s just a diversion from dealing with realities of the world we now live in.
Did the USA deal with dirty players? Yes, of course we did. Did we seek to assure that we were a dominant player over the Soviets? Absolutely. Have we always preached the benefits of freedom? Yes. But it is silly to assume that we can either force all of the dictatorships in the world to be democracies, or not deal with them at all and the Communists would play fair or stay away. That wasn't the realities of the world.
Except that the Cold War was really a hoax invented by the Anglo-US axis to stifle Russia, exert US control over western Europe and keep Germany divided and conquered. In other words the US (and its British cohorts) were the aggressors.

The "international communist conspiracy" never was. Just like there is no international islamic terrorist conspiracy today.
I never really understood the fixation with Communism otherwise. Communism is so 50 years ago. Now, it's "Islamic terrorist", or should I say, "Islamofascist"....

We do have to keep in mind the outcomes of a Danish cartoon of Muhammad, along with this film. Then there was a French cartoon of Muhammad that brought some issues.
after NATO killed 50,000 Libyans to overthrow a government that it didn't like.In the process destroying Africa's wealthiest country and empowering Salaffist mercenaries on its payroll.
History doesn't start just when you want it to.
May also depend on who was behind the bombing (either former Libyan govt/sympathizers, or Muslim extremists)...Were there any new leads in that?

We do have to keep in mind the outcomes of a Danish cartoon of Muhammad, along with this film. Then there was a French cartoon of Muhammad that brought some issues.
So it's the free expression of ideas and opinions that is to blame for terrorist activity? Really?
Everyone should adjust their actions so that nobody offends Islam?
I never said that, but just implying that these things may not have helped when it came to the bombings. Let's not complain of others twisting words, and then do the same, since I've never spoken of my feelings/thoughts toward freedom of expression and possible causes of terrorist activity. I do NOT condone such an outburst, while at the same time I understand the impact that it will have. In short, no, actions shouldn't be adjusted. I may go ahead and watch this film and see what was being said and how these things were presented.
DJ,

I'm not trying to twist your words-but look at how you structured them. Mine is a logical conclusion. Especially in light of the way some people tend to place blame.
"No Islamist conspiracy....so our embassies in Libya and Egypt were attacked on the same day-just by sheer coincidence? Oh-yes, it was because of a movie trailer on Youtube that had 300 views before the Obama administration began to promote it.

Have you ever heard of al Qaida? What are they? Freedom fighters? Just a happy band of Gypsies saving the world from oppression?"

"We do have to keep in mind the outcomes of a Danish cartoon of Muhammad, along with this film. Then there was a French cartoon of Muhammad that brought some issues."

I was bringing this up because of the coincidence part. There were several protests going on at that time in places, and these alone couldn't be coincidence. On the same note, what happened in Libya may have been connected to the film. It is possible, so I can't rule it out. There's also that animosity over the US involvement, which is why I had also brought up the possibility of former Libyan govt/sympathizers/extremists in another post.

"Al Qaeda" has been decimated by the Obama administration.  Most of their leaders killed and gone to ground.  Something Bush couldn't or wouldn't do.  But I'm sure that Bruce would never acknowledge that fact.  The contempt, disdain, and superior attitude that he maintains when he is seriously intellectually out-gunned seems to me the height of irony.  Like a smug, small town librarian.

Snakes can still bite (and inject venom) after the head is cut off...But, we can still understand the reference. A lack of head doesn't necessarily mean lack of danger, though.

What the hell is a "cooter" other than an obscene synonym for vagina?  We are in serious "Honey Boo Boo" land here.

It's a kind of turtle. The way my mind works, I just got a mental image of a vagina biting someone...Gives a whole new meaning to the term, "snatch".
Dj, Yeah,
i think that what we are going to find out is that "Al Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb" planned and executed the attack on 9/11/12 in Libya. There are reports that there were no protests at 8:30 pm, and 15 minutes later, they were under siege in a coordinated way.
I'm not sure about Egypt, but am inclined to believe there was AQ involvement there as well.
The protests a couple of days later in-what-46 or so places? , was probably inspired by the video, after the Obama administration played it up.
May or may not be. Al Qaeda may be behind it (especially if the vid acted as yet more fuel to a fire), or may not be. I haven't seen anything yet telling for sure, so I can't make assumptions yet. Motives can be tricky, and not necessarily black and white. The article linked above is one I found right off.

Me too-years but as I recall (and the details are sketchy),

WARNING-----WE'RE GONNA DISCUSS THE END OF THE BOOK "TOMMYKNOCKERS" BY STEPHEN KING

Sorry, but I hate when the end is revealed.

At the end, as I recall, the woman who was digging up the object in her yard ended up somehow transforming, and a visitor-maybe a Sheriff's deputy and the woman's friend??--came to check on her and she grabbed him with tentacles from her.....coooter. I seem to remember being disappointed with the ending. And, they may have changed it when they did the movie. They must have, otherwise it would be a famous viral video by now.
It's been a while since I've seen the movie, too. A friend of mine made a painting of a nude woman and had nails (real ones, sticking out of the canvas) bent inward around the vagina, reminded me of that.

The notion that Obama "played up" the video is so inane.  It wasn't even mentioned until the riots started and that was only to make the statement that the views expressed in the film were not those of America.  Except for Bruce.

It didn't seem to hurt Bush when it actually happened on American soil.  And there was plenty to cover up there.  Including the six months of intelligence warnings that were ignored.

    More lies.
    Yet more lies.
That may be or may not, but which parts? How? Sources? I'd say that all sources lie or twist things, but it's a matter of picking out what is true. Picking out truth requires time, so unless someone was on the ground at that time, with knowledge from both sides, they are only speculating and really don't know what's going on.
    Yet another something...

Why do you think they did that?
Again, sources? How did the know there's no link, and what sources/facts back this up?.... Perhaps, the administration would connect it to the video to make it appear that's the only motive? Or that it's only the work of pissed off protesters, and not some extremist, or group of them?
It was known at the time from witness statements. The security guards at the scene confirmed it. It was all over the non-corporate media.
It was a military style attack. There was no demonstration.
By whom remains to be seen but I suspect that if it was Libyan loyalists the powers that be won't want that made public. It wouldn't fit in with the 'liberation' propaganda fable. Better to blame it on fake 'islamists' and keep the whole anti-muslim pogrom going.
Do you have links to this information? By  whom is going to be the interesting part. If done in military-style attack, it could be a few different possibilities.
    1. By Libyan forces (also part of reason I brought up ex-Libyan govt/sympathizers earlier)
    2. 'islamists' - considering there are those with military-style training. (guess who they may have learned from...)
The part where they mention these things are what stood out to me.
We do need a boogeyman...Provides with a scapegoat/distraction/something to keep us in a perpetual state of fear. But if no blame is given there, why bring up the retaliation and protests instead of simply saying it was the work of islamists (to help carry on the anti-islamist thing)?
There is no non-corporate media.  Unless you mean blogs.
Could also refer to non-mainstream media. There's quite a bit out there: independent companies (not corporate, though), freelance journalists, bloggers, plenty of people who spend countless hours researching.
You can find it if you look around. I'm not going to post links here. The security guard interview was widely reported outside the US.
The corporate media is just not credible. They are propaganda channels, stenographers, cheerleaders for the corporatist war agenda. Not just in the US either.
Now they're drumming up more wars against Syria and Iran, then onto China/Russia. It's nuts.
Til found, I can't really say much on it. I just ask for links to read the same material that others read. Each report may differ. Mainstream anywhere is bad for that. Truth, half-truth, lies. It's up to the reader to find out, and not just go along. It wouldn't surprise me. We've been meddling in Iran's affairs for some time, which should be well-known about by now, along with Russia. China and Syria wouldn't surprise me, either. No telling what's done in China and Syria.
