So, I was wondering if anyone knows how The Magic Circle became a legally recognized nude place? Can the method be used to make more nude places in Arizona? Thinking of how Sycamore Creek could be legally designated as a nude space. The difference in counties might be a obstacle. Any thoughts?

A volunteer group is what made the magic circle happen. They approached the Bureau of Land Management and ask if they could partition a portion of the campground for nudists. The volunteer group makes sure everything runs smoothly, even when someone stays and leaves a mess they go over and clean it up, they go out of their way to stay in the good graces of BLM. It's my understanding they accept donations over at their tent on site, it's where they organize dances and such. I've never been there but I have several friends that go every winter.

Hi.
I rode through there and found it void of nudists. So I can't relate to the issue or the place.

We have a member here at the Oasis 33, Carl, he snowbirds to the magic circle. He makes it a hobby to hike along the borderline separating the nudist from the textiles, just to stop and talk to the textiles on the other side. I think he kind of gets a kick out of it LOL

Haha, that sounds like a fun interaction. I haven't made it out there yet but plan on it soon. Is it clear where the dividing line is? it looks like so many paths on flat ground. I'd hate to make a wrong turn and wander where I shouldn't. Also thanks for you info on the start of the Magic Circle. It's good info on what seems to be the only sanctioned public nude place in Arizona.

The entrances and boundaries are marked with signs. The Bare Trail pretty much circles the perimeter of the camp. You have to have a qualifying RV with proper wastewater tanks to camp at the MC.

Natural56 did a great job summarizing keys points. The attached image is an example of how the BLM marks off the boundaries of the Magic Circle. There are roughly 14 of these red posts defining the irregularly shaped boundary.
