RE:Profile pictures

Agreed.... Why do people join a nudist site to only be fully clothed???

RE:Profile pictures

I also have trouble accepting that people on TN are actual nude nudists when all I can see is a blank nudist or a clothed nudist, or bits of someone or the TN motif. Profile information and photos certainly do help convince me, but in these times of increasing awareness of fake news, along with virtual reality what was once true might now be fake, or fake truth or true fake............!! On True Nudists there are a huge number of Fake Nudists, as there are on other nudist sites, that has been the case for a long time but seems to be increasing all the time.

I first got involved with online nudism in the days of bulletin boards on newsgroups when dial-up connections meant that photo and other large file sharing was more or less impossible, unless you had all day and a connection that didn't keep dropping off. This must have been getting on for 30 years ago. There were fake nudists on those sites, but nowhere near as many obvious ones, or perhaps the fake nudes of those days were better than today's fake news often is?! The effort involved meant you quite possibly were a genuine nudist, today anybody can be anybody with very little effort if you know what you're doing. I am the walrus............!

Today being online is a very different experience, some people still have very slow connections, but most of us can upload genuine photos of ourselves as easily as we can steal others' photos and share them under our chosen user names, should we be so inclined.

I've read posts on sites like British naturism which are commenting on what seems to be an increasing experience, being asked to wear clothing at nudist clubs/resorts at certain times of the day or in some parts of the site - shops, restaurants etc.

https://www.bn.org.uk/news/information/about-bn/keep-naturism-naked-r439/

If we're paying to stay at a nudist resort we want to be able to choose when we get dressed, if at all, we're nudists who actually want to be naked, 24/7 if we want to be. What is the point of going to a nudist resort if you have to carry something to cover up with should you be passing a bar and want a bottle of water to take to the beach or pool?!

I mention these points because there seems to be a wider blurring of what a nudist is, including within the world of social nudism. I discovered nudism in an era when nudists were nude, I continue to socialise nude with naked nudists, I hope that nudism continues to require no clothing!
I might be an old-fashioned nudist but I continue to want to be naked whenever and wherever I can be. I've long shared recognisable nude photos of myself online, not everyone feels comfortable doing so, I see no reason to be ashamed or embarrassed about being a nudist, its something that I love being. Personally I've not had any major issues resulting from being open to all about being a nudist. But, middle-aged men are less likely to than some others. So, my apologies, I'll continue to be nude online.

Hi Olly - hi all

Uh hum , yes I agree with you regarding not allowing folks on the site being restricted from viewing profile pics - I shall 'open mine up right now especially after viewing yours! - lol

Hey I understand your position. I had someone else on the site remove my head, so to speak, from my photo as I don't want to be recognised locally for business and community roles reasons, I know there are others locally on the site. I'm not a fake or a troll either, use our local CO beaches and my yard. My other photo's are a little creative so my face is obscured too, we all have our reasons without being fake or dodgy.

RE:Profile pictures

Ive tried to upload a profile photo and have followed the guidelines but have yet to have one of my uploaded photos show in my gallery.

I dont know if not being certified was the reason but I finally had the time to do the certification. Now its to see if they accept the photos I submitted.

If they do, then I will try to upload photos again to use as a profile pic and to share.

What's up with all the new people signing up to this site with pictures of them wearing clothes? Why would you sign up to a nudist site and be afraid to show yourself nude? They should be proud to be nudists and not hide behind clothes. That is what this site is for, the freedom to be nude and be social with others and make good new nude friends. Stay nude everyone!!!

Give 'em a break, some people are easing into this and community help. I'd rather see a profile with nothing but clothed pictures than an empty one with some random nude lifted from an adult site. At least textile vacation photos show me there is a person there.

Well I don't see any rule that you have to post any photos nude or not. Most profiles here don't have any photos posted at all and have been members of TN for years. The ones posting clothed photos may be easing into photo sharing on TN and I see it as testing the water so to speak. You have to respect their decisions of what to share and maybe the will one day post their nude photos, if not it is still their decision.

Could be because they have reviewed the site and seen the overwhelming amount of people that make juvenile comments about the nude photos and don't want to be part of that. Personally, I'm not here to have people comment on my photos... I didn't come here for a porn site...but I'm getting the vibe that most people did.

RE:Profile pictures

On one hand clothed pictures in this forum is like wearing a swimsuit on a nude beach .
But there is something about privacy as well. We would not wish that our pictures appear where they dont belong.
I am wearing sunglases on my profile Picture....

RE:Profile pictures

I have run across profiles that have been on for years but still have one or no pictures, no friends and no groups. I find them because they looked at every photo I have public.
What I cannot figure out is the profiles with no photos, no profile, and still have hundreds of friends on file.
