Nudist Church

Here's a question that I had while I was sitting in my textile church this morning. Is there such a thing as a nudist church? If so where?

Yes, there are. Some nudist resorts have church services, but seldom broadcast about that in their websites.

I attended church nude at Glen Eden many years ago. Didn't think anything of it.

..... Like was Jesus completely nude on the cross, or did he have that loin cloth wrapped around him?

Jesus was completely nude on the cross. Was also completely nude when He walked out of that tomb.

Some historians believe that men were always crucified completely nude, including Jesus.
Others think that Jews wore a small loincloth because no-Jews would be too offended by seeing a circumcised penis.

When you are a nudist you do the same as you would clothed so why would you think church would be any different ?

RE:Nudist Church

Nude in Christ's time was not seen like it is now. As it was common for workers to work nude, which was inferred in Matt. 24:18 and John 21:7 Some time earlier than that the High priest established an arena near the temple where the young men of Jerusalem could play games, nude of course, after the manner of the Greeks. (Apparently they had the same issue we do now with idle youth in the city looking for mischief.) There were critics of course, but I think the criticism was more to do with imitating the Greeks than the nudity.

But yes, Nude church is held at various naturist resorts, I attended one at rock haven at the CNA meeting, but services are not regular there as they are other places. And being nude in church service seems quite natural, since we know that physical clothing has nothing to do with our standing before God. It's just utilitarian like coats hats and shoes, an accessory that has it's purpose but is not always needed. Attaching moral significance to clothing is mans invention and has produced the plague of pornography as a reverse byproduct.

Speaking of baptism. I myself really struggled with wanting to be baptized nude but was too afraid to ask and if by chance I did ask and it was a yes haha I wouldn't know what to do to be honest. I'm sure the pastor would've read several passages of accepting our bodies and passages on nude baptism for segway purposes but it's something I wanted to do and ultimately didn't. I mean I was baptized but not how I would've loved to have been. -J

I was re-baptized when wife and I joined a new church. Apparently, they wanted to make sure we were actually baptized.

Anyway, I told the pastor that I wanted to be baptized the same way Jesus was- in a river without covering. Was almost shocked when the pastor said OK. Everyone else had a problem with it though, so it didn't happen.

I told the pastor it would be even better if nobody else was there (I am not an exhibitionist!) but that didn't seem to matter. I just thanked the Lord that I had the opportunity to profess Jesus as my personal Lord and savior in a public setting.
