Plans for today; continue decorating the house for our Thanksgiving Holiday. Last night, we took down all the Halloween decorations and put the boxes back in the storage cabinets. As they Halloween decoration went up, the Thanksgiving decorations came down. I'll have to get dressed a little later and decorate the porch with Fall leaf swags and Fall garland around the door.Other than that... try and stay naked as much as possible til we leave for a grandchild sports event this evening! Life is Good!;D
We did that last night. Halloween up, Thanksgiving down and all set up.
Doing a flush on my power steering unit in car and then replacing the defrost heater element and sensor in my freezer when it comes in the mail today. Freezer was dripping water and found out that the defrost heater was not working. Luckily we have a fridge out in the garage where we could move stuff that needed to be kept cold. And if time allows I'm going to the junkyard to get a hub and spindle for my van. One of the wheel bearings is going out. Much cheaper to replace with a whole spindle/hub assembly than having the old bearing pressed out and a new wheel bearing pressed in. Although the van is running well it does have 390k on it so have changed quite a few things on it.
The scary ghost from Halloween has gone, transforming back to a bed sheet, a stepladder and two poles.
Today we put poppies up around the village ready for next week's commemoration of the end of World War One 100 years ago.
Well if the Halloween decorations are down it's time to put up the Christmas garb. WalMart is ahead of it already :-)I don't like it either but we've already bought our first artificial tree! ;pWe've bought 2 real trees the past two years that last about 20 days, combined! Real trees are now over $100 for a 6.5 -7 ft Noble Fur and they just aren't lasting at all. We can get 3 years outta this artificial tree and still be $$$ ahead! If we decide we don't like it, we'll go back to real trees and suck it up! :DDDWe bought the artificial tree in mid October... and we were about a week late of all the Christmas stuff already out at Costco, Walmart, Target... we hadn't even had Halloween yet!!!
We've had an artificial tree for years and every year we talk about how much we miss that real tree smell!! We put ours up so early that we'd probably have to buy at least 2 before Christmas got here :-DD
My wife actually put ours up the weekend before Halloween :-)
