Bromance - Wikipedia

A bromance is a close, emotionally intense, platonic bond between two men.

It is an exceptionally tight affectional, homosocial male bonding relationship exceeding that of usual friendship,
and is distinguished by a particularly high level of emotional intimacy.

In sociology, homosociality means same-sex relationships that are not of a romantic or sexual nature, such as friendship, mentorship, or others.

The emergence of the concept since the beginning of the 21st century has been seen as reflecting a change in societal perception and interest in the theme, with an increasing openness of western society in the twenty-first century to reconsider gender, sexuality, and exclusivity constraints.

So bromance is distinguished from a romantic and sexual nature relationship.

Men have always had close, intense and platonic relationships with one another. Men have also always been sexual. It's a way of self expression. Bromance and homociality are as old as hunting together as primitive men. Whats different is that society needs a word for what was once nondistinguished. In the same way homosexuality (and all other prefixed sexualities) are also a relatively modern concept dating back about 150 years, a blink in human history. We are men and we are sexual. We are also spiritual, and they are expressions like two sides of the same coin. I don't have all that figured out, but I believe that it si good.
