The Austin American Statesman ran an article on nude locales in Austin. Its also a nice story about how the author first became a naturist. In addition to the information, its a very nudism-friendly article.

Before you start with the lectures, let me just say this: If youve never taken a naked outdoor plunge, youre missing one of lifes most perfect pleasures. Nothing feels better than water against bare skin, outdoors, under the leaves and stars. Besides, if polar bears, otters and alligators can all happily sashay through life without button-fly pants and hoodies, doesnt it deserve a try?

I have gone skinny dipping in the Barton Springs greenbelt. Pretty easy to find a spot without anyone around. Also hiked out of there naked just after dusk without being seen. Just be careful. Keep Austin Weird.
