Bordeaux beckons
In advance of an upcoming vacation in Bordeaux, I'm looking for suggestions and recommendations. For example: Better to book winery tours on our own, or hook up with a tour group? If a tour group, which one(s)? Are there areas, towns or wineries in the region that you may have found particularly or surprisingly delightful? Our visit will be relatively short (just over a week) so any and all advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
We will visit Arcachon & plage Lagune; Saint-Emilion; and La Cite du Vin in Bordeaux itself. Perhaps plage Jenny as well, but likely not plage de Dupee or Montalivet. Specific wineries & chateaux, still to be decided. (Accented characters are apparently not rendered correctly but it was not for lack of trying :)
