Natural nudity in older books

One of the factors in helping me to accept my desire to be nude as okay was occasionally seeing nudity depicted, as something natural and unremarkable, in older books.

One that I especially remember was by Gavin Maxwell. I don't remember whether it was Ring of Bright Water or the sequel The Rocks Remain but in the section of photos, there was one of Maxwell sitting nude on a rock. The fact that he was okay with the world seeing him like that was helpful to me. A notable thing is that years later, in another book about I forget what subject, there was a reference to Maxwell, and the one picture of him that that book chose was that same one, nude on a rock. I thought that was wonderful, that the other author would give the world that image out of all possible ones.
