Gay Friendly Resorts near Tampa, FL
Hello everyone - I do not know if this kind of post is appropriate here. But would anyone have recommendations for hotels and/or resorts in Southern Florida (specifically in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area) that you would consider gay friendly? My friend and I will be in February for a cruise, and would like to stay someplace clothes free for a few days before the cruise starts.
We are especially interested in any of the "straight" resorts in the area (e.g., Caliente, Lake Como, Paradise Lakes) and their attitude towards gay men. But I would also be interested to hear about any guest houses, etc. catering specifically to gay men.
I should point out that my friend and I travel as a couple, but we do not live together -- we have found this to be a problem for some "straight" nudist clubs, even ones that promote themselves as gay friendly, since they require us each to pay very high surcharges to enter the resort as single men.

Is the entire resort clothing optional at SawMill? I got the impression that it was only the pool area.
Also, do you have any experience with or information about Caliente? I have been curious and wanted to check them out for a long time. I am a little concerned, however, that they really seem to cater towards straight swingers. I have nothing against that per se. But straight swingers really do not seem to be to friendly or accommodating for gay men, in my (limited) experience. They always seem to assume that we are creepy single men who want to stalk their wives.
No experience with Caliente. Lake Como recognizes GNI so it's a no-brainer for us as we know we will be welcomed and we get a discount for being members. Hope that helps.
