Interesting. Surprises? Yellow (caution) ratings for Washington, Nevada, Texas, Massachusetts and Florida. It seems to me that each has areas and/or events where nudity is accepted, from select beaches in WA to NV hot springs, from Hippie Hollow to Blind Creek Beach. No debate though that these states are far from being as tolerant as California or Vermont.

And green for Arkansas, a state where it is illegal to be nude in front of anyone besides a spouse or your doctor. Arkansas definitely doesnt fit the definition of official nudist locations, and topless sunbathing is generally acceptable. Alaska also doesnt allow public nudity and has no resorts that might stretch the definition of official nudist locations. North Carolina is another state where public nudity is against the law. At least they have nudist resorts, if that is the threshold for official nudist locations.

From our experience, Florida is MORE tolerant than California. It certainly fits the definition of green it has an official public nude beach at Haulover as well as multiple other nude beaches and dozens of resorts. Texas also fits the definition of green Hippie Hollow is legally recognized as clothing optional.

This "research" is a joke. It is really an ad for a swimsuit company. Base your topless or nude sunbathing decisions on this at your peril. Much better to join TNS if public nude sunbathing is your thing or AANR if resort nude sunbathing is your thing and follow their guidance.
