I have to admit I have never heard of him. I was kind of hoping for maybe they would go with a bigger star in the role. But heck I never heard of Matt Smith and I thought he did a good job. I just hope the writing gets better.

With Russell Davies returning as show runner I think next series will be awesome. I am of the minority opinion that is the stories that are the most important part of the show. Not the actress or actor playing the Doctor.

Thats a good point about the stories. I would add its also they way the stories are told. Something has felt off in The Who story telling recently.

Yep the writing and storytelling is something that has been less than stellar recently in my opinion.

The new Doctor is almost here. Not sure what to expect. Sometimes I feel the writers try too hard to cover politically correct subjects or extra long intricate story lines. Keep it simple but write for the actor. The aloofness, with a little craziness, of the Doctor is what makes it so fun for me.
Looking forward to the next regeneration .
