RE:Departure

Are there any places where passengers can remain nude when going from cruise ship to onshore nude destination?I've always wondered if the ship docks in ports like Carnival's in Roatan, if they allowed the passengers to walk naked off the ship.

No, at Mahogany Bay you have to walk through the duty free shop and past Honduras customs officers on your way into the port area. The stores in the main shopping area don't allow nude shoppers either. You have to walk a little way over to the nude beach area.

At Amber Cove it is similar, except it is Dominican Republic customs. When we've been there only the lazy river area was nude, but I heard they had nude shoppers in some of the stores in the port shopping area last year.

Grand Turk was the worst. No nude facilities at all in Carnival's private port area. The DJ at Margaritaville tried to sound cosmopolitan by telling the ladies to take their tops off, then was shocked when that is exactly what happened (never dare a nudist to get nude). Security got involved, and a lot of passengers headed back to the ship early. The only good thing about that port was the ship was positioned so that we could stay nude onboard while still in port. We had already figured this out and were enjoying nude time at the pool when all of a sudden it started getting more crowded and we heard about the DJ incident.
