The weather started with a temperature of 60. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub during the event as the temperatures dipped. Members arrived from the SC Midlands as well as North Carolina and Georgia, some driving up to about 3 hours, to feast on succulent oysters (steamed and grilled) as well as steamed, 2-plus pound whole cold water lobsters along with the coleslaw and garlic bread. Some enjoyed the lobsters dipped in butter and lemon. There was also spaghetti Alfredo for those who preferred to not eat seafood or to enjoy that as a side dish. Snacks were the usual dips, chips, and crackers plus marinated okra and asparagus. For dessert there were several choices including brownies, banana split ice cream, blondies, chocolate cake, and cherry cordials.

During the event, some in attendance decided to select a future event to call their own in 2012. Our hosts were very gracious, and we look forward to other super times with great folk. Photos will be in the Yahoo groups.

Our next event, December 3rd in Hopkins, is the Winter Holiday Party and Italian theme potluck supper with a grab bag/gift exchange after dinner. Please bring something between $5 and $10 labeled with either man, woman, or neutral. If funds are tight, please let me know, and we will be happy to help out. So far, we have eggplant Parmesan promised for the event. Let us know if youll be joining for this celebration. Please also let us know if you'd like to attend our Dec. 17 event as well as a club New Years Eve gathering.https://www.travelites.info
