"Search" ignores Washington DC

I just tried to use the "Search" feature to search Washington DC. When I entered the country, United States, the dropdown for states did not list District of Columbia. (I know it's not a state, but since it's not IN a state, it needs a location.)
I tried a zip code, 20003. I know it's a good zip code; it's southeast of Capitol Hill (I work there). I put a distance of 100 miles. And the system turned up nothing.
There are quite a few of us. I myself live 10 miles due north of the White House. Not DC, Maryland. And there are several in places I know in northern Virginia--all less than 20 miles from the zip code I entered. But I want to search DC.

I've also had trouble with search by zip code lately (for locations other than D.C.). So it's not that particular location, but rather the zip code search function in general. Hopefully the site will make it a priority fix!Yes, the zip code search is broken. You should be able search by a neighboring state/city though.
