How far south? I've got a sloop in Sarasota Bay just north of the airport but no one to sail with. I'm not confident of my skills to take her out alone. I used to sail with a buddy out there..naked of course....but he moved away.

We are moving to your areanext month and I will be looking for a boat to crew on.
I have a 22 foot Catalina that I sail here on the Santa Barbara Channel. I have crewed on boats up to 48 feet in races both here and in Washington State.
I'll try to get in touch once we get settled.
