Time spent on nudist websites.

Return to Discussions

After reading a few comments on another thread about time spent online discussing nudism, I wondered when other nudists are more likely to be on this or similar sites. I was reading comments where some people said that during warmer weather when they are more likely to be socialising in nudist environments, or even just nude at home, they considered that they are more likely to log onto TN and other nudist sites and engage with other nudists there. Others considered that they were more likely to comment on threads like this when they were not likely to be nude outside enjoying this great way of life, when it was cooler, possibly with more free time and wanting to engage with other nudists. Some said that if they were not spending much time nude they were less likely to be on here.
I believe that I'm most likely to spend more time on nudist sites when I'm less likely to be nude outside. In summer we socialise at nudist beaches a lot, go on nude hikes and attend events at nudist clubs. We also socialise in our homes with nudist friends, but we do this in the cooler months too, we also attend places like the nudist spa we were at this weekend. We live nude at home year round unless it is really cold, so I guess if I was to follow others' reasoning that's why I'm on nudist sites year round. Nudism is also an increasingly important part of our lives, we are both long-term nudists but since we've lived near to nudist beaches we've built a good circle of local nudist friends, we spend a good bit of our free time nude with them, so nudism has fortunately become a bigger part of our lives.
This probably won't apply so much to nudists who live in more nudist-friendly climates. I guess that it possibly varies with what sort of nudist you are, if you tend to only be socially nude on holidays, if you are only nude at home or if you like to be nude whenever possible.
Do others here have any thoughts on any of this?

RE: Time spent on nudist websites.

I would have to answer the question ... "too much time!" :D

We are fortunate to have so many nude venue opportunities nearby.
Our club is only 30 mins away and we have a mini nudist resort in
our own backyard. Living naked almost 100% of the time, here at
home, we spend lots of time outside doing things besides lying in
the sun or on a pool float. If it's too cold, we are inside and if
bored, I'm on the computer visiting nudist websites. I will
contribute when there is something to share or to relay a story
relevant to the discussion but I don't like to contribute to a
discussion on the forums or in groups just to increase my
contribution numbers.

I've probably left more nudist websites than I'm a member of now.
In the beginning, I was joining every one I could find because I
wanted to immerse myself in the information on where to go to
partake in social nudism. Magazines were helpful but most of the
time, real nudists with real experiences, first hand experiences
would chime in to discussions and share their thoughts and info on
where they go and what to expect.

Later, I began to try and help newbies with certain issues that I
had experienced with a social nudism reluctant wife. Though my wife
had fully adopted and enjoyed our home/backyard nudism from the
start of our relationship and eventual marriage, she was reluctant
to take it social. Through my trials and errors, I was able to get
my wife to agree and enjoy social nudism just as much as she enjoys
being nude. I would share those experiences on all the sites I was
on but as my wife said ... "it became an obsession and part time
job!" I had to find balance.

Nowadays, I'm on a select number of sites and I don't get involved
in every topic of discussion. I don't respond to every single
request for help from those with reluctant partners. I don't feel
the need to help every single person with their personal issues
because it has backfired and made me skeptical and a little
untrusting and that's not who I am.

If I'm not busy, if we are home or on vacation and there is a lull
in the activity or a reason we are held up inside for any reason
and my wife is reading her book, that's when I will visit the
nudist websites and see if there's anything that interests me that
I will get involved in but I'm trying to spent less time on these
sites.

RE: Time spent on nudist websites.

Oh I do spend to much time on sites. I dropped one a while
back that at one time was on quite a bit. I actually do more
reading of threads than posting. We have a short club season
and more indoor time so that attributes the time I spend
lurking. With such a great interest in nudity it helps feed
the soul of it for me. The wife has no interest in forums and
chats except if I ask her to look or read something. Our desk at
work is just a few feet apart so I often ask her opinion and type
it in.

When she did get on several years ago some pretty inappropriate
questions and comments were said to her. She has been dogged at her
whole life and said "I don't care to get on line and have it happen
some more, it just gets old." Matter of fact that is how I
originally hired her as an office manager. She worked at a large
Hardware store, dealt with men customer comments and getting hit on
everyday. The final straw was a guy walked up behind her and slid
his hand in her back pants pocket.

The site I am no longer on was more of female safe place so in that
aspect it's a shame it withered away.

RE: Time spent on nudist websites.

I think that the site is most useful for people that are not in conducive non-textile climates or in smaller cities or towns where it is difficult to find others with common interest. If you have clubs or beaches nearby then it is not as necessary. Newbies will find it more useful than those who are longstanding in the lifestyle. Being a naturist is best done actively but like you said, when winter comes around there would be more time indoors to take advantage of social media like this

RE: Time spent on nudist websites.

Most people watch TV in the evenings. I go on nudist websites as my evening entertainment. That is most evenings unless I'm on a nudist holiday or at a nudist event. Unfortunately there aren't any nude beaches or resorts near me so I resort to the internet. I've found I don't get on in chat. I tried Skype for a while but all those I chatted to wanted me to be naked (no problem) and masturbate for them (big problem). So I stay away from it. BTW I found everyone on TN gave me a lot of encouragement when I first joined. They brought me out as a nudist (by showing that us nudists are not the freaks or perverts many textiles would have us believe). Long may that continue.

RE: Time spent on nudist websites.

Some interesting replies, I think we've all declared ourselves as
being hooked on the nudist internet connections made through sites
like TN. The point made about females being put off by the hassle
from men online is a sad reflection on the world, hopefully some
women may see that there are groups on here where they can engage
in discussions without that sort of hassle. It is very marked on TN
and similar sites that apart from some honourable exceptions most of the input on the discussion and forum pages are from men. I
don't think its just nudist sites that are like it though, there
are a lot of trolls having goes at women all over the place
online.

The sharing of ideas and experiences about life as nudists is a
primary reason for me first using these sites. Much like other
interest based sites the nudist ones have proved very useful at
times for discovering new places and events. Despite there being
lots of fakes online its always seemed worth persevering to me as
I've met some very genuine nudists, of whom there is a small chance
that I'll meet some eventually, due to the rest of us being spread around the
world. With many of the others that I exchange thoughts with in
threads like this there is definitely a spirit of camaraderie though. As
Olly touches on with his comments about people here helping to
bring him out as a nudist and "showing that us nudists are not the
freaks or perverts many textiles would have us believe", it is good
to be here with others where we're very naked and its the very
normal way to be.

I've got other interests, some combine well with nudism, but its
the nudist sites that I invariably spend more time on. I too will
choose to spend time of an evening typing things like this to share
with nudists in preference to watching TV, its usually more
interesting and entertaining.

I'm not sure that I'm the best spokesman here but I am on this website every day. I am not able to be nude everyday. Although the last couple of days here in PA I have been nude a lot more than I would usually be this time of year.I do nudity a lot vicariously on this site. that's all I have.

RE: Time spent on nudist websites.

All of a sudden its gone from being 20 C to 10 C maximum with winds all the way from the polar region making it much colder. We had sunflowers, poppies, sweet peas etc all still well in flower, amazingly for England we still had a few strawberries and courgettes(zucchinis) etc outside in November, they look rather sad this week. At the start of last week I was nude at a local beach with friends, this week I'm nude indoors and online with nudist friends a lot more.
