Sailing naked
Return to DiscussionsOn Thursday I joined a couple on their live aboard yacht. We are sailing between islands here in the Bahamas. I was at the helm and on deck for a couple of hours with nothing but my life vest on. Now below deck with nothing on. Plenty of sun on this winter pale body for today
Sailing naked is the best, but make sure you use lots of sun lotion as the UV is reflected from the water and all that wind does burn quickly.
I have kept a hat on during midday but so far not out on sunscreen. One day my back felt a bit tender but that faded. Today I walked a mile long beach in a sarong and the only part that feels too much sun is my face. Aloe soon

You must be somewhere quite a bit warmer than Indiana!
Out of curiosity, how did you come upon such a great opportunity?
The old saying of " it is not what you know but who you know " applies. Actually I am naturally outgoing and have a do not know a stranger approach to life. In 2007 on my way to sail on a Windjammer Barefoot Cruise. I was in the San Juan Airport and saw the distinct luggage tags that Windjammer provided on a couple's bags. I went up to them and said. " Here watch my bag I need to go to the bathroom , we are going to be on the same cruise" We clicked before we even got on the ship and cemented the friendship during our week sailing. The cruise ended on St Martin and they had booked a couple of night at some hotel. I had booked 2 nights at Club Orient. They dropped me off at the resort
and then came back the next day enjoyed the nude beach. We stayed in touch them in Colorado and me in Indiana, over the years always bouncing the idea of traveling together again. Finally in 2019 the 3 of us plus 5 others camped our way down the east coast of Australia
The next year they retired about bought a boat to live on . I have twice joined them for 2 weeks, both times in Bahamian waters.
