Sleep nude...here's why, scientifically.

Return to Discussions

recent study showed that less
than 10 percent of Americanssleep in the
nude.Whaat?!How is thisnumber so low? I sleep in
the nude every night. Not only
does it make me sleep better, experts swear sleeping naked is
actually goodfor you.

Take a look at the top reasons youshould ditch those pajamas
for good!

1. Help Air Things Out
Jennifer Landa, MD, author ofThe Sex Drive Solution
forWomen, says that sleeping naked can be healthier for your
private parts. While it's totally normal to have yeast and bacteria
down there, thewarm environment can sometimes cause an
overgrowth. One way to preventinfections is to air it out.
For men, it has also been found to increasefertility by
keeping the testes at adequate temperature and retaining
spermquality.

2. Keep You Sexy
According to naturopathic therapist Natasha Turner,
best-selling
author ofThe Hormone Diet, being toowarm at night
disrupts the release of your main anti-aging hormones into
yourbody. As your body temperature drops, growth
hormones are released and work their regenerative magic, she says.
Andthat keeps your skin and hair looking healthy and SEXY.3.
Promote Weight lossDr. Natasha Turner says that youcan reset
your fat loss hormones by sleeping naked! Sleeping naked can
helpmelt your fat because it helps your body to cool down. As
your body cools down,it releases fat-burning hormones. These
hormones also rebuild skin cells, bonecells, and muscle cells
as you sleep.4. Help You RELAXFeeling anxious or stressed?
GETNAKED! A hectic day can often prevent you from getting the
deep, quality sleepthat your body needs. However, sleeping
naked can ease tension and help promotea better sleep
quality. In fact, medical research has shown that sleeping
nakedis good for those suffering from insomnia.

RE:Sleep nude...here's why, scientifically.

Been sleeping naked for years, just liked it and felt comfortable. I hated PJ's, got too hot and the top would get tangled. Will wear boxers if at others houses or around others but reluctantly.

Was in hospital early this year after an accident, slept naked and wandered to the bathroom naked, the nurses are used to it and when I asked should I have something on they said no, do whatever makes you feel comfortable. They are used to seeing people nude but the principle of what they were saying was important.

I was happy to show off my pretty good all over tan at the time and was fit & toned, at the time one nurse did ask me about the tan too. We talked about nudity, nude beaches and sleeping nude. She said some people do it in the hospital but not many.

I have slept nude since I was probably 10. I am 40 now. I sleep with a sheet and thin handmade quilt in the summer. In the winter I put on a heavier comforter. I love the feel of the cool sheets against my naked soft skin. It just feels right.
