I visited Dillion's Russian Bath House after weeks of contemplation, because I was not sure what to expect. This facility has a women's day on Mondays and men's day the rest of the week. After researching, I found that it is a mostly nude facility, and I experienced that everyone there was nude or only wrapped in a towel. There is a huge very hot sauna room which was awesome, shower room, large steam room, comfortable lounge sitting area, and massage area. I found the atmosphere very friendly and very comfortable to be nude all throughout the facility. I actually fell asleep for a short nude nap in the lounge area after spending some time in the sauna. I was so relaxed and felt so good that I spread my towel out on one of the loungers with about ten or so others in the room and fell asleep for about half hour which I was told is normal. There were many regulars there and about twenty or so people there during mid day. I later received an awesome deep tissue massage which made me feel even more relaxed. It was nice to be comfortable nude among others in a naturally nude environment. I spent almost four hours there and would have stayed all day if I could. I hated to put on clothes to drive back home. I would recommend this experience to anyone and would definately recommend Dillions in Chelsea, MA to anyone around the Boston area.

It's a great place, I love the atmosphere and that I can hang naked with other guys throughout the sauna, steam room, showers and lounge. There's a strong Russian culture on weekend mornings with lots giving traditional platza oak and birch rubdowns to each other in the sauna room. They really crank the heat up so be prepared for that. There is another Russian style sauna just south of Boston in Norwood, Mass. It's about the same size and same price and you can also hang naked throughout. I personally prefer Dillon's because the heat in the sauna is better. That's what sets Dillon's apart from other places. It's the oldest steam sauna in the United States. One thing people should note is that the heat in the sauna is best in the morning and gets progressively cooler as the day goes on. The stones are gas super heated in the early predawn hours and then cool throughout the day. Instead of open group showers like Dillons it has a couple of single shower stalls but when I was there they were open with no doors or curtains. There is a television lounge where you can hang out nude. I never got a massage there but they are the same low price as at Dillons. They have a small outdoor sitting area where you can hang as well. It's fenced and private. I have only been there a couple of times because it's not as convenient for me. A lot of guys went there a few years ago when Dillon's was closed for a month after a fire. If you can't make it to Dillon's the Blue Hills Baths is a good place to hang naked.ReactReply

[/quote] The two places that I mention, Dillon's and Blue Hills both in Boston are not co-ed. Dillon's was all male for about 125 years and then added one women's day/night. It's not run as a nudist resort, but the reason it's being talked about is that in an area where there are limited options to practice social nudity they are great places to do this. The sauna bath or "banya" is part of daily culture in Russia and in many parts of northern and eastern europe. Most of these places separate the sexes. People still frequent these places, sweating together, bathing together and socializing after a days work or when free time is available. Massage and rubdowns with brooms made of oak and birch leaves are common. Dillon's usually has a mix of men of all ages and a few boys. I know there are such places that are co-ed and clothed in public spaces and nude in the same-sex spaces. I think some Korean spas are operated this way.ReactReply - MEMemberFeb 26, 2016
I'm not aware that any 'public' facility in the US can be mixed nude. If it is a private 'club' set up where one has to be a member then rules could be different. Here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area we have to huge facilities, Kings spa (Korean based) and Spa Castle (Korean/European based). Both have a men's area and female's are that the spas area with saunas are nude. The rest of the facility - saunas, massage areas and indoor (kings spa) and outdoor (spa castle) pool areas are co-ed clothed areas. If you google either facility you'll find the web sites. Both offer discount admissions thru sites like goupon and livingsocial that give you up to 50% off. It is very relaxing to be able to enjoy the pleasures of hot spas and warm sauna nude, there is nothing else like that experiance.

[/quote] That's how it is at Dillon's. It was a men's Russian steam sauna and they added a women's-only day a few years ago. It is not a nudist or naturist spa. It is a very traditional Russian "banya". It's a place that men can go and feel free to be naked with each other while hanging and sweating or getting a massage with each other. I have brought up the subject of co-ed nudity with a few guys there and most have responded saying they would be uncomfortable. I just assume this is because most of the customers associate co-ed nudity with situations leading to sexual behavior. Since it is visited predominantly by straight men I think they are very comfortable being nude with other men but not with women. Plus it always has this strong male atmosphere so men talk openly about things they would not be so comfortable talking about with women. Interestingly, I have talked to gay and bisexual men who don't like these places so much because they are sometimes uncomfortable hanging naked with straight men. Even though there is no real sexual atmosphere in the place, since most customere are non-nudists, non-naturists, the nudity would still take on a sexual tone for some of the guys, and I presume the women too, not sure. I don't really care because I go to hang naked and enjoy the freedom and openness even if some of the other guys practice their nudity without thinking of it as a philosophy. They are there for the physical health and camaraderie and bonding through the experience. They just happen to be comfortable doing it nude. You often have guys there who were brought there by their dads or grandparents and who now are bringing sons. And lots of guys bring friends and introduce them to the place. [/quote] Dillon's is very simple, small and basic. Nothing fancy about it. It offers almost no privacy and can not accommodate large groups, but that's part of the charm of the place. Thae nude atmospere at Dillions is very comfortable. I found it very comfortable to be fullly nude with others and no hint of sexual tension. I particularly enjoyed taking a short nap naked in the lounge area after roasting in the Sauna and being gently awakened when it was time for my massage. I enjoyed the experience there and look forward to returning.

There is a guy who visits there several times a week and always sleeps on one of the two chaise lounges. Like clockwork he's there, usually partially covering himself with a cotton sheet. This Sunday a young guy who had never visited before was at Dillon's for about four hours and about two hours into his visit I saw him taking a nap totally nude and uncovered on one of the lounges. When that regular guy takes over the lounge chair I always see him as taking it over as his territory. When this first timer was taking his nap he made me smile just seeing how comfortable he was with his nudity! Either way it's nice guys feel comfortable enough to sleep with all the activity and commotion. It was busy and crowded on Sunday. When it's not too busy you can stretch out nude in the sauna or steam room as long as you don't stay in there too long.ReactReply

There's a sign next to the door, in English & German..."Ladies night Monday 5-6pm, Gents night Tuesday 5-6pm"I'm trying to figure this out, as it was a Thursday.....I turn to hang up my robe and there's a black bikini on the hooks. I hang the robe, grab a towel, and walk into the sauna nude. To my surprise it's very big, 15x15ft and there are a dozen people in there, men, women, couples...all nude, sitting on towels.
