Braless at Work

Return to Discussions

I was wondering what peoples opinions were about being braless at work. I have been in my job (academic) for nearly a year now and decided from day one that I would continue to be braless. Ive noticed that its not very common at all so thought Id ask whether others also did it, or if others have seen it at work.

My previous student job was as a waitress. When I started this job I did wear a bra (only for work though) and after a while decided that it was silly to wear one specifically for work when I never wear one in my private life. I stopped wearing one for my bar job and I think that switching like this made it even more obvious. Thats why i decided for my current job to be braless from the beginning.

Any thoughts on the being braless at a working environment or if its seen as unprofessional etc. Would be great to hear.

As long as you are comfortable with being braless at work, I say keep going to work braless.

I think its all in how it is presented. Such as not wearing a white tank top versus a t-shirt of button up that the material is just thick enough that it wont let your nips slice through it when a gentle breeze makes them hard.

Other than that you should be able to go braless or lingerie free as much as you want. Just my opinion.

It shouldn't matter and you should be able to go braless at work unless you wear something that exposes your bare breasts to others. In your line of work as an academic, I assume you're teaching others? If so, you'll want the student to be listening to what you're saying and not paying more attention to the movement of your unrestrained breasts.

You'd hope that most young people would applaud your courage and freedom to live and work without a bra but there are still those that would sexualize your not wearing a bra and that is unfortunate. I'd say, give it a try for a while and see what happens. You can always wear a tight tank under a blouse to keep your breasts from moving around and it being obvious.

You should always be professional in that job. Being braless isnt being unprofessional unless you are hanging out and you are making it to where people able to see down your dress or blouse on purpose. I dont think you are doing it for anything other than to be comfortable. The same reason Im always commando, personal comfort.

I think that as long as you enjoy going bra-less that it is fine.

I went to your profile and if your pretty large nipples (sorry to be blunt) stand up and out like they do in your pictures (especially the 2nd picture) than I'm pretty sure they would be distracting to most young men. Don't get me wrong. I like the look myself and I think being natural is a great way to be. Now I don't know much about bras but do they make maybe a pasty or something to cover just your nipples to soften the look and you could still be braless? Maybe you should ask a colleague what they think. Again. Not trying to be condesending or anything.

I think people need to get a grip and stop telling women what to wear. If a woman wants to go braless, then she should be able to do so, no matter what the reaction of the people who might see her will be. If a person is distracted, that is their problem, not the woman who is braless. If some old crone who looks like she has been sucking on lemons objects, that is her problem.

Personally, I love it when I see a woman's nipples poking through their attire. Own it! I say... Be proud of your hard nipples. It is the way God made you.

I think bras should be against the law

I think it's ridiculous that a woman needs to even ask this question, it just shows how repressive our culture is. A bra is an invention by a man for a woman and we have made women think it is wrong to go without one. just the opposite is true, they are not healthy, they can cause restrictions in your glands that cause problems, and they have to be uncomfortable. You should be free to go braless and not worry about any repercussions, and maybe other women will see you and start to do the same.

I completely agree. It's nobody's business but yours. My first wife never wore a bra. For her it was natural and nobody said anything about it. I like the natural look, no matter the size.
